I was in the 3K GTD on AP last night. About 490 runners. Had a little over 6K with blinds 100/200. Average stack was 5200. I know I was fine with chips, but I always start getting ansy(spelling?) when I start drifting towards 20 bbs. I'm in the big blind and get dealt AK suited. Two people limp. I just saw two guys limp with A5 suited and one hit a flush. I decide I'm going to raise it up to 1K and try and take it down right there. Well…..as you can probably guess I get reraised to $3300. My only thought(and it wasn't for long) was that he thought I was trying to steal light and wanted to re-steal. Before even thinking, I jammed. He turned over aces and I busted. I just sat there and staired at my screen for a minute and thought what a douche you are. Obv I should have thought the limp could be aces. Do you guys ever do this? And, what would you have done here?

You didn't spaz out. AK is a great hand there…especially with 30bbs you should be happy to get it in which such a premium. I know the limp raise is kinda scary but people do weird stuff enough that to make it profitable to get it in. Remember you have an A and a K which reduces the number of times he has AA or KK as opposed to QQ/AK/air. It looks like you're stealing from the blinds and sometimes they do crazy bluffs against you in that spot.

Cooler spot. Can't be afraid of monsters under the bed. Half the time these donks make the same play with medium pairs and random hands, too.
Obv. kinda throws up a red flag but 30 bigs isn't really that much and you aren't getting away from AKs.
And if you do something weak like check and an A or K flops it's all gone anyway.
Well, that makes me feel better. My first thought when he did that was that he just thougth I was trying to steal. You know the feeling when you bust. It was my last tourney of the night and I had to lay in bed in think about it. Thanks for all of the help guys. This is what is going to help me improve.
