I believe I played this hand pretty bad on a few levels.  But what makes it worse is it contributed to finishing 12th out of 885.  There's two tables of 6.  My table is fairly tight especially considering it's 6 handed.  Below you can see I'm UTG with KT.  I'm mainly trying to steal the blinds and I almost clicked “Fold”.  So that could be one mistake, but with my chipstack. only 2 of my 5 opponents have me covered.

Anyhow, I played the hand.  CO calls, BB calls.  I flop top pair and I think that may get me some action since a T is not normally in my range.  I fire a 1/3 bet (perhaps mistake #2).  CO calls.  He could have a flush draw or something like 87, 76, or a pair (any pair I guess).  He could also have a T with me.

After he calls my Turn bet alarms are going off all over the place.  Perhaps he has a set, or he hit the 87 (although that's a raise), or he can still be on the flush draw hoping he has the implied odds to make the call.

Mistake #3 (IMO) is the river bet when I hit the King.  I kinda thought that King doesn't help me.  But I can't help myself …

I'd be interested in how I could have played the hand differently.  I'll post the result latter.

Well I'm guessing the result didn't go in your favour, but I wouldn't be too harsh on yourself here. The hands beating you on the river are 77, 33, tt, 88 and KK (24 combos in all), as well as some unlikely straights with 9J and 96. Of the hands that might call you beat t9, t8, 87, AT, as well as QKs, K9s, ATs, KJs. Then there could be lots of weaker flush/straight/combo draws which have missed. Overall I'd say draws (inc combo draws)>pairs/weaker 2 pairs>sets in number of combinations.

Considering that the board is pretty drawy, I'd bet bigger OTF, probably around 60% pot. If flatted I'd then bet/fold the turn – I'd expect most good villains to raise the turn with a set with two flush draws and straight out there. Once he's flatted the turn, I'd check call the river to allow him to bluff any missed draws, although it's tight as you're then missing value from hero calls and weaker two pairs.

I don't see an issue with anything so far, save for the size of your bet on the flop. id likely go bigger on the flop multi way, given the FD and how it is somewhat coordinated.

bet/folding any street cannot be too bad here, so i'm not really sure what went wrong in your eyes (maybe the results will open my eyes)

Player3 (CO) Turns over TT for top set on the flop and for whatever reason doesn't raise me on the river

1.) at a 6handed table this tight 12handed i am raising ATC here. So KTo is the very top of my range here

2.) i am betting flop bigger multiway too

3.) turn i also bet

4.) if you put him on a lot of FDs then i c/c river as he is not calling with them if you bet. alternatively i bet myself for value. i think river bet is bit too big imho. as he should have mostly medicore hands on the river the way i played i would try to extract a little value of them. Maybe 1/4-1/5 PSB is ideal.

5.) def. bet/folding on turn and river.
