I tried posting this yesterday and it didn't work, when I click the topic it says “topic not found” or whatever, I assume everyone else is getting the same error? So I'll try again… Admin could maybe delete original post?

Hey TPE I was glad to come across this interview …..s-8099.htm and thought maybe some other members would appreciate it as well. Nothing revolutionary I'm sure but winning pots without holding cards (stealing) is one of the weaker areas of my game and something I'm trying to improve. All too often I continue waiting for premiums too deep into tourneys and put too much importance on hand values. Unless I'm at a very soft table this often leads to not getting payed off when the cards do come, especially deeper into a tournament when players are generally better and more observant. I'm not saying I never steal or disregard hand values, but I'm certainly not doing so at an optimal rate and I know I'm missing out on many +EV spots.

Anyone have any advice pertaining to this or perhaps a TPE article / video reccomendation? Thanks smile

Good read. Gboro certainly has the results, so his words are worth reading. Thanks for posting this link.

Who is this Gboro kid?  I only listen to the pro beasts on TPE (BigDog, Panda, Wein, Ttwist, Hagbard & Cougars)  lol  😉  Anyone else just doesn't matter.

I think this was the best thing in the article:

How much does your hand matter?

Your hand matters for sure, but I guess I equate blind stealing to

raising with crappy cards [laugh]. Ten-nine suited for example, you may

not be willing to go all the way with it, but it's still a powerhouse

hand. But I’d definitely prefer to have the jack-nine offsuit than the

queen-deuce offsuit of course — hands that play and flop decently well

in the event that you do go to the flop.

I also find it hysterical when the young 20's phenoms talk about “back in the day I use to…” or “old school….” as if they were part of it. This one cracked me up!  What exactly is “back in the day…”  to a 24 year old?  When they were in junior high?  I wonder how that conversation would go talking to Doyle!  Don't take anything serious out of it…I am totally having fun!  I am a huge fan of Steve's!!!
