It's the $3 R on stars. After rebuys have finish and fairly near the money. Villian seemed like a decent player, I think could have been a reg and had been fairly aggressive but no good reads.
I decieded to defend as we were pretty deep and it's a hand that can flop fairly well. After that I'm not sure about any of my decisions/sizings. Is it a good spot to check raise? It seems like he will be c-betting a lot on this fairl dry flop. As the hand devoloped I picked up a few more outs on the turn and thought it was best to continue the aggression. The river looked like a scary card and I thought I could definately rep the straight and to a lesser extent the flush.
I've been trying to be more aggressive and trying to find more spots to three barrel. Is this a good spot to try it or it just a bit spewy and unnecessary? I feel like I could have sized the turn bet bigger to make the river shove more convincing (he had slightly more than a pot sized bet left by the river). Any thoughts on sizing? Any input welcome.

It's a good bluff providing the player is a competent villain and knows how to fold. Almost impossible for you to be bluffing from villains prospective. Unless this villian has what your representing i can't see him calling this river bet given the assumptions above are true. However, if i was villian in this hand with 2 pair or better on the flop in this situation there is no way i would get to the river like this.

He does not need a target hand. The board runout is good for his range and bad for his oppoennts and he also has good blockers to his oppoents strongest possible holdings. This is possibliy one of the best bluffing hands in this situation he could choose to bluff whether hero knows it or not.

I thought AK, KQ made up a big part of his range and maybe KJ, I think he would have a hard time calling with any of these one pair hands. I don't really see him having many 2 pair hands in his range but these and even sets seem to largely be bluff catchers given the run out and my river shove, which is quite polarizing.
I certainly took villain to be a competent player and capable of making folds.

I applaud the effort and think this may well be effective in a $3r. I can't say that it's a good spot in a vaccuum though. You're correct that he probably has a pretty wide range for c-betting the flop, but your own range should be even wider and weaker. I mean, he put 400 into the pot with five players still to act preflop. You put in 240 closing the action. The only hands you could really check-raise for value on the flop are 66 or KT.
I definitely like the pre-flop call, and I definitely wouldn't fold to his flop bet. I'd start by calling and then looking for opportunities to bluff later if you don't improve. I'd definitely bet the river if he checks back turn, and I'd consider check-raising turn bets as well depending on how wide you think he'll barrel (this is a good board for him to barrel).
That second paragraph is more about balanced play, though. If you have reason to believe this player will fold too often to a flop check-raise, which may well be true in a 3r, then go for it. I'd plan to give up most turns, but this is certainly a good one to fire again, and then yeah might as well bombs away on the river.
