I am watching Andrew´s series on bluff, I was thinking about this hand, if it was a good one or not, couldn´t figure V´s range properly, but seems V was weak and pot controling.

MP3’s flop raise iso with 5 in the pot and the donk bettor yet to act confuses me. I may not even have the best flush draw at this point, and my overcards may not be good if they hit (although SB having Q7/Q8/J7/J8 is less likely than if you had KQs and were worried about V having K7/K8).

When you cold call the raise, MP3 assumes you have something. (Then again why he raised only 2.5x if he didn’t have a set or 87 is confusing me—these types of hands don’t come up often with 5 in an unraised pot this late in the tournament.) When you bet so small you price him in to call the turn, but I understand what you’re saying about sizing. It also corroborates with a story that you have 88 or 22. But if he believes that, then the call should worry you because now it means he doesn’t have a flush or straight draw.

So that’s why I would check back the river. A worse hand won’t call. This is a good podcast hand. I can hear Marc yelling about all this (not necessarily because anything is wrong—Marc just yells a lot).
