hey

No reads.

when v bets turn their range could be Jx 9x,maybe two pair type of hands they may also have flush draws in their range. When v bets again otr they either have strong hands in their range like two pair type of hands 98/J8 or K9/KJ or bluffs in their range. The thing is i reckon Jx will check OTR and so would 9x since those hands are marginal. Missed flush draws would likely bet river and hands like QT/T7s has us beat if v has those and the two pair type of hands. I was thinking If we had a hand like Q8s here i reckon we would then have a much better bluff catcher since we block v having a strong hand like QTs and two pair type of hands. however with our hand here since we have also have the 8 we do block v having two pair type of hands like 98s but we don’t block the straight QTs.

Thoughts please?

cheers.

I don´t like to open A8s EP this early. As played I think is a call, there is a lot of missed draws V can bet, but there is also hands that beat hero, V can bet T with air since you ck flop, not sure if they barrel turn and river. Seems a call tow.

I raise any suited ace early in the tourney, it really depends on your post flop skills imo. Playing OOP with a hand like A8s can get you in trouble indeed but i’m not really looking to play a big pot with this hand.

I feel like the only reason to play a hand like this early is to get a big pot and a nut flush. What else would mean victory, top pair?

I struggle with ignoring suited aces when first in myself, but what I can offer is, this early, a larger preflop raise with your full range. You’ll get more value from better hands, and you’re offering worse odds to call, which helps when you’re not at the top of your range.
