Hello TPE!

I am recently moving sites, getting used to play on iPoker network, seem lots of bad play there; Anyways, I am confused if I should reraise on this spot, or slowplay it. V´s range is strong, but the flop is very good for me.

I gave a tight 3bet range for V: AA-TT,AKo-AQo,KQo,AKs-AJs,KQs

IPoker, $4.55 Buy-in (50/100 blinds, 10 ante) No Limit Hold’em Tournament, 8 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager – The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: 13,351 (133.5 bb)
BB: 11,334 (113.3 bb)
UTG+2: 14,693 (146.9 bb)
Hero (MP1): 8,439 (84.4 bb)
MP2: 12,374 (123.7 bb)
MP3: 8,753 (87.5 bb)
CO: 12,661 (126.6 bb)
BTN: 11,020 (110.2 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 9spade 9heart
UTG+2 folds, Hero raises to 300, 4 folds, SB raises to 500, BB folds, Hero calls 200

Flop: (1,180) Qheart 3spade 9diamond (2 players)
SB bets 590, Hero?

So, OTF V has a range of 71 combos:
Sets 3 (4.23%)
Overpair 12 (16.9%)
top pair 24 (33.8%)
PP below tp 12 (16.9%)
ace high 20 (28.2%)

Hero calls 590

Turn: (2,360) Jclub (2 players)
SB bets 2,000, Hero raises to 7,339 and is all-in, SB calls 5,339

River: (17,038) Jspade (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results: 17,038 pot
Final Board: Qheart 3spade 9diamond Jclub Jspade
SB showed Aheart Aclub and lost (-8,439 net)
Hero mucked 9spade 9heart and won 17,038 (8,599 net)

Why don’t you start by sharing your own thoughts on the merits of calling vs raising flop? What are the hands in your opponent’s range where you think it will make a difference?

Lol, I was coming up with suggestions as I read your post, but then I read Andrew’s reply and I think its a good idea. If you can post some of your thoughts on the advantages of either approach, the feedback we can give you will probably be much more helpful.

Sorry for the delay.

My thoughts at the moment was to call and leave all V´s range in the hand; looking at this now I don´t think I should raise otf anymore, I guess I am a bit confused because his range is on monster and strong marginal hands (AK – because I don´t think V will GII OTF with AK, so I say marginal)
