Hi
Am looking for some advice on how to approach day 2 of a comp. I played the day 1 online and the day 2 will be live. This is a slightly unusual structured comp in that there are 4 online flight 1's and 2 live flight 1's. Each flight 1 plays down until there are 10% of the field left, not until a certain blind level. Day 2 the blinds start back at 3k/6k-1k, no matter what level you reached in the flight 1 you played. Another interesting twist is that any player can re-enter to another flight and if they get a 2nd stack through they can “merge” the 2 stacks. This same comp was run for the first time last week and only person managed to merge their stack for around 700k. Everyone who makes day 2 is in the money for £300 with the buy-in being £100+15. The flight I played there were 33 runners so 3 went through, which I did as chip leader with 527,450. So I will be starting day 2 with just under 90 bigs.
So based upon the above dynamics and situation, how should I be approaching this day 2?
Many thanks

I dont think you should approach this any differntly then if the first day was live and you made day 2 with 527k. The multiple flights happens all the time in live tourneys(see WSOP ME), the emrging of stacks is nto really a factor once you make day 2, the EV of the decision to paly multiple days is something that is interesting and done during the WSOP Asia-Pacific in Austrailia. They had a tourney called the ACcumulator, with multiple starting days and allowed you to paly as many as you wnat nd merge your stacks. It would reQuire some broad assumptions and brunt force work to calculate EV deciisons on entering multiple days once you have made it to the end of a certain day(at a certain point the value you gain from re-entering is probably overshadowed if you have enough chips).
But once you get to day 2 all that is moot. It will play as a regular live MTT. Since you are likely one of the CLers and probably the Cler at your table, I would come out the gate with an agressive strategy while you figure your table out(they will be forced to be nitty while they figure the table out). The rest is just adjustments to your table and your reads.
