Scenario 28-32 big blinds deep , opponent has you covere and is active with button opens.

He is making slightly over 3x raises , say 25k at 4k/8k .

Seems akward , since if he was just mini raising we could defend , but the over 3x open makes me not as comfortable flatting  , and I don't want to 3bet/fold , so do we 3bet/call or can we just be shipping this stack size?

I know this is real general broad type question. And as far as Hero hand range the hands I have trouble with what to do are your broadway hands , suited aces , small pairs , vulnerable yet very strong Heads up hands.

I agree with benny, without more info start shipping your strong hands that are very likely ahead of his range.  What is the villian doing when you raise the button?  One way to combat him if he folds oop is to balance your raises in position to his and wait for a spot to try and get it in ahead when he raises the button.  If he's 3-betting your raises and you are just getting run over, then you have to make a stand with your premium hands and hope to win a flip with a pocket pair or get a better A or K in against him.  To me heads up is more of a mind game when you are not very deep, you need to make some abnormal plays to slow him down: overship the button, limp big and shove the flop, 3-bet shove his raise with 64o and show it.  Its not very likely that you are going to grind him down by playing solid HU strategy, its going to come down to an all-in pre at some point just try to be ahead when you get it in.  Any other thoughts?

More and likely he is bullying with a big stack. I agree with other post ship it on good hands. Give some of the pressure back to him.

If this is a habitual thing for the player then I would agree, start fighting back and put the pressure on him to figure out if you have it or not. The only thing I would caution you on is before you start to fight back you are going to need some information so you can augment your range in the most favorable way possible. What do I mean by this…we need to know what we think he is going to do in the face of the shove. If he has be open/folding to 3bets before then that is a great sign and I would start 3betting him very wide as I am not afraid of him doing anything. If he has shown a pension to raise/call or to not let a raised hand go, then we need to take that into account and adjust around what he has been raising/playing with. If you have seen him raise/calling and playing a lot of just hands from the button (Kx, Qx, Jx, paint+low rag type stuff) then I think you can be wide with your shove range here and include virtually all Ace-x hands, K-9+, Q-9+, J-8+ stuff because we can easily trap him with a dominating hand. If he has been playing stronger stuff, then I agree we still want to pressure him to make him start thinking twice, but we will need to tighten up our shove range to make sure that we are in the best possible situation if/when it goes to the felt. Also leveraging card removal here is going to be a big thing when trying to combine HUD stats with your impression. Don't forget to exclude or reduce holdings that you combat with your hole cards when making that estimation.
