This sounds like kinda a generic question lol but I am going somewhere with it.

I was listening to the podcast today, and what was being talked about was how people generally understand push fold default ranges and your edge has to come post flop.

I have a pretty solid push fold game, and paid for a coach a while ago. He said to go ahead and try the $15 180s if i had the roll for it which i dont so I’m definitely gonna show a profit in the $2.50s I’m trying to run my roll up in.

My question is one where can I be looking to improve, there’s not really a lot of post flop in the 180s. I don’t want to fall into the trap of oh well it’s just the micros just gotta put in volume and get higher to learn.

Just curious of other angles I can be looking at to get better.

From what I remember back when I played these, I would open any two from the button and sb vs players that would fold preflop or on the flop. But this edge only lasts for a level or two before the blinds put you in the push fold stage. I think these are too shallow for things like light 3bets or multi street barrels and floats, but I could be remembering the 45s and under. Maybe the 180s play deeper than I remember. If so, just do what you do in regular MTTs.

dont play these, absolute crapshoot

check out the 500 cap and 1000cap mtt's for like $1.50, $2.20 and $4.40….. also the 4.50 180 mans have a nice slow pace but sometimes take too long to fill up

These tournies have a better blind structure and deeper starting stacks. Plenty of fish stacking off with top pair or open jamming JJ in the first level

They feel like it sometimes, my friend built his roll in them and his coach said its possible to make 1k in a couple weeks with enough volume.

I know I have an edge, and it’s hard to beat the sheer amount of volume you can put in.

Just doing it over rolled, besides if the swings can go down violently they can go up too. I’m just gonna put in a few 1000 games and see where it gets me.

I like the cap mtts though they are nice.

Btw IMO these games have changed a lot in the last 2 years

Playing tight early doesn’t really get u a tight image that can be exploited later

Loads of regs and mad Russians calling u down with k high

Jmo. Gl again

Oh yeah for sure, there’s a lot of weak regs though.

I think pretty well everyone knows to be tight early and wide later.
