Only been at table for 10 hands, villain no sign of craziness in that time.

Checked turn for pot control, thought his 3rd check on river meant I had to be good, never thought he'd check raise.  His line doesnt make that much sense but still not lovin a call.  Thoughts?

Would he really check KT on river?
losing a lot of value there, no?
its not like he’d seen me be aggro in those 10 hands….

fair point. does that leave AQ then? possibly like 44 or something (super fish would slow play it this way)

I'm thinking even super fish would lead out on river after I check the turn with 2 pair or better.

Fair enough if I bet turn, then he can probs expects me to fire river too, but due to my turn check it just seems as if he's bluffing cos he thinks I am firing just cos of his check.  I did only bet just over 3rd of pot…..

well by your reasoning, if he isn't repping anything then he is repping nothing – that makes it a call then?

To put another take on it, pot is now about 7500, its 2100 more for you to call with top pair. Almost 4 to 1, probably have to call here. If he has a set or AQ AJ, well so be it. And even if he has you, you will still have about 20bb left. Call here will not exactly cripple you and could propell you to a deep run! laugh

Not saying, just saying.

TPTK is prob behind here but it's a tough spot. Did you consider checking behind on the riv?

I'm thinking its a call too – his line makes no sense (the check on river) so I think a call is good.

I, however, folded.

Darn it!

Thanks for the thoughts….

I did consider checking back, but thought a small value bet was in order – I was aware that this might put me in a tough spot, just as it trned out, but thougth he'd never check a 3rd time planning to check raise, but fairly likely to call with a bluff catcher.

I think he worked out that that was my spot, and put me to the test with a 3bet.

Punk. confused

Fairplay to him if that was the case…..

personally i have no problem with the way you played the hand

raise size pre is ok

flop bet size is good

i also check the turn – for control and also b/c if you get c/r on the turn, you're really only calling to hit a T which would make it hard to continue – so i like the turn check

finally i'm probably calling the river

i mean when you check behind on the turn you look weak right? you look like you Cbet the flop and slowed down on the turn b/c you missed.

Question: would you fold if he lead out on the river? no you wouldnt

side note: this is becoming so overused these days imo (people floating a flop with air and leading out on the river when you show weakness on the turn) i snap these guys off all day.

So why not bet-call the river here – same diff isnt it?

he's kinda repping strength but at the same time nothing, KT leads out for value, sets lead out for value, even 2 pair hands dont check there – he just doesnt make sense

end of story – he thinks you're weak and had a go a stealing it from you and succeeded

 Next time just callcool
