Mmm can I reverse the question here?
In this specific situation if I was the villain I think I may actually fold in this spot EVEN if I have a K. This is not a small overbet, we are putting over 50BBs on the flop. IF it was an A on the board instead of a K I would be more inclined to call an overbet but given the action I don’t discard AA playing this way.
With that in mind, do you think the times they called justifies the times they don’t or would it be better to do a pot sized bet or a slightly smaller overbet?
The problem here is I tend to do that (make a reasonably sized bet) because I myself would probably fold to a 50BB bet.
In this scenario… is it allright to fold with a K here?

I like this thought process. If we are put in V’s shoes what could we possibly have in this spot? If we had a flush we would most likely check/fold or in rare cases check/call, not turn the hand into a bluff very often.
So if we look down at KQ it looks really good but what do we beat? Nothing really. It’s not realistic to believe this overshove is done with Jx so best case we split the pot with another Kx and the other times we loose to AA, JJ, KK or 6x. On the rare occasion we herocall a flush that turned the hand into a bluff.
But! In the low stakes tournaments you can’t assume people will think this way and I do think a shove is the best play to get calls from those Kx hands that don’t want to give up the pot and don’t have the same thought process.
If this was a big tournament and V is one of the top online players I would like a bet of 2/3 to 3/4 more often as I think the shove would get a fold way more often then in a random $11 tournament just because of the thought process earlier.
