This was a marignal spot and I was 50/50 about shoving (didnt want to raise fold 15bbs). There was 5 left and 4 paid I was sitting 5th. The table at this point had been playing fairly tight but BB had more than enough chips to call fairly wide.

I think the only thing making this marginal is the money bubble (but your shorty here), otherwise I can't see how 5 handed (Utg is pretty much HJ position here) you aren't ripping A8s suited in here (unless there's no antes)? I can't really agree with anyone saying its bottom of range with antes. Being the short stack, I'm going with A2s+, A9o+, KJo+, K8s+….anyone good at the math stuff here that can do an analysis?

A8s from your stack 5 handed is a jam for me though I understand others may fold. I think the fact that you are on money bubble should only widen your jam range and never tighten it, making this a definite jam spot for me. If the table is super nitty/scared then you could think about opening here to fold to a jam, but you need a really solid read on the table for that as it creates a great resteal spot for someone.

Thanks guys – all good stuff. The raise option was possible but 3 good regs still in that could (and capable of ) a reshove steal. Raise folding would have left me with no fold equity afterwards so didnt like it.

Amyone put this into Nash calculator? (I would but I am on iPad) I think it’s a definitely shove and I prolly shove quite a but wider too, most aces, prolly K9+, all pairs, QT+
Given you are short stack you really have to take this spot, 4 handed means it’s not many hands till you are under 10bb.
Raising here honestly looks like you are trying to steal and I would jam on you incredibly wide. Maybe even raise-calling is better than raise folding tbh
