It's a euro site, 1500GTD MTT. There were about 100 runners. The site doesn't let you keep hand histories.

12 players are paid. 5 remaining. 1st gets 500, then 285, 198, 157 & 112.

Villain: Has been pretty active, minraising whenever he had the chance. Folded to shove 3 times in the last 30 minutes.

Hero: Shortstacked, pretty conservative/tight. Don't think the others had any idea of my image because they seemed rec's.

Everyone has around 30-40k in stacks besides me who has 14k.

BB = 1000/500 with antes

Villain minraises UTG, Hero has A5o UTG+1

We fold or shove?

It's a fold. His open commits him to calling your shove, so it isn't likely to be super light. I think A5o is just a little too light to be shoving here. I'm probably A9s, A10o, 55+ KQ without knowing any more details.

It will also depend on how comfortable you are playing a shorter stack. There is a good chance a lot of these players will simply be waiting for you to bust, in order to take the pay jump.

I personally don't think I would ever play on a site that doesn't allow me to keep HH though.

I agree, I think it's a fold as well.  Since he opened then he's likely to call.  If it folded to you, then I would shove for sure, no doubt.

I wouldn't mind playing on a site that doesn't allow HH.  Anything that they do to discourage regulars from playing (no HH, no syncronized breaks, etc.) will just make the field softer.

Thanks for the post laugh

Thanks for the replies guys. A huge leak in my game is that I tend to stack off too light. I know it and still I do it. Quite hard to learn it seems, but I'm working on it.

And about the HH. It's a regulated site, that discourages HUD use etc. The HH is saved but not in a readable format, at least for a non-tech savvy like me.

If it folded to you, I'd fold this as well. I just think you get better spots to shove 14bb and we're sort of attempting to ladder as we play profitable spots. Open shoving at this stack size is something I do if people are 1) decent enough to know they can't really flat when that shallow so they play 3b or fold, or if 2) those behind are so fishy that they do flat a ton and make it incredibly difficult to play postflop because we're talking about an incredibly high variance hand. if they flat your open,  you put in 5bb ttl with a cbet and you have 9bb kinda thing, like i'd rather just take it pre where profitable unless they have a super high fold to cbet even that shallow

take like a calling range of TT+ AQ+ …. for every person remaining to act, you multiply that % of hands by N, showing you how often you get called. it's wider than that for different positions and people, but those are hands people odn't fold this shallow really so it sort of helps you gauge how often you'll get through. so that's 5% x every person left to act.

You would fold this Jacob if UTG folded to you?  With only the BUT and blinds left to act?  I could be wrong but it seems like a shove to me.  Maybe min raise with the intention of folding to a raise …

i actually didn't realize it was only 5 handed. yah i'd make sure it's profitable, but it should be. maybe it's a good spot to raise/fold because the only person who can really 3b you is bb since everyone but you has around 40 bigs.
