Would be great to get your thoughts on my thought process and range assignments
Villian is a winning reg basis Sharkscope. I had previously 4bet massive shoved with JJ when he was on 30bb and got called by AQo
- What do you think about my first raise size? My 3bet range is: 22+,A2s+,K9s+,Q9s+,J9s+,A9o+,KTo+,QTo+ Thoughts?
- His range to 4bet = 55+, A9s+,KJs+,ATo+,KQo Too loose an assumption? Wanted to include some hands he might 4bet bluff….. I would call with 88+,AJs+,KJs+,QJs,AQo+,KQo
- 5bet? Call? 5Bet as a bluff seems like I'll get shipped on and would be forced to call hoping or AK which seems stupid basis the other stacks at the table.
- He had bet small and given up a number of times before. I raised as a bluff hoping to fold out AK/AQ
Any additional thoughts?
Thanks 🙂
I think this hand works better as a flat from the BB. You are the 2nd biggest stack out of 4 left by at least 15bb on 3rd place. We dont particularly wanna get into a preflop war with the chip leader at this point, as has been done. Bloating a pot with a hand that doesnt particularly play well postflop isnt something I necessarily want to do.
As for your 3bet range, i would flat alot of those hands. K9s+, Q9s+, J9s+, KTo+, QTo+ all play really well against a button opening range. I would 3bet very polarised so either hands too weak to flat or nutted combos.
As for the flop play, what value hands are you check/raising on this board in a 4bet pot? On this board i prefer a call on the flop. Whilst AK/AQ does have ok equity against your hand, again we dont want to be bloating the pot OOP against the chipleader. If he is sticky he can peel and put us in terrible spots further down the line.
