So this is a live turbo tournament. Blinds go up every 20 mins. 52 players entered and if you survive to the top 25 you get $400. Have a fairly bad table draw since these free rolls usually have retired nits where blind stealing is easy. Everyone at my table is under 40 and more aggressive than usual.

I start the hand with 4900. BB is a younger Asian guy with 12K. Most stacks are around 5K

Blinds 200/t400/25 I raise 900 from MP2 with 7spade6spade Folds to BB who calls.

Flop (2200) JspadeTheart9spade

Villain shoves effectively putting me all in for 4000

Pre-flop: Thought I would try a cheap steal and fold to a shove. I thought the min-raise might look stronger to some of these players than a shove, but shoving or folding may have been better options.

well given you said that the players on the table are more aggressive then usual i'd saying folding pre is better then raising here.  You'll be getting decents odds on the call if you faced a 3-bet shove against an opponent who you think will shove with a wider range too. I'd much rather open a hand here that i'm willing to r/c here, though with your stacksize its pretty much shove or fold.

If i had too choose between raising or shoving, i'd much rather shove here as we do have fold equity and also a hand which has decent equity.

Yeah I think this is a shove pre, but is the bottom of our shoving range in mp2.

Seems like an easy call on the flop, we have the 2nd nuts and villain’s range is wider than KQ.

My mistake on the post. Obviously I’m calling with a straight. I has 76 for a flush draw and gutshot.
