Blinds 75/150
Hero ($4500) UTG+1
UTG (pretty active with $10K) raises $375
UTG+1 (just lost big hand QQ<55} AQ suited raises 1200.
UTG+2 ($10K) raises to $3000
fold all around to UTG who insta folds
Hero (UTG+1) ?????
First I don't like Hero's raise size. Second this is the early part of the tournament with long way to go. Long 2 hour drive back to Boston.
Would you ever fold preflop
Why are you 3beting UTG Opener, with the hand which you aren't willing to go in preflop.
Even if UTG Player is playing loose, I would prefer just flatting, to keep hands you dominate and also don't put yourself in tought spot just like this.

Yes it was WSOPC
Here is what actually happened.
Hero shove for rest of his chips.
UTG2 called an happily showed AJ off like it was the nuts.
Flop came J X X. GG Hero. Long drive back to Boston.
I dont like flatting unless Im inducing a squeeze here. Flatting gives up so much of your range.
I mean would you flat if you had JJ+ or AK?
Im still going with 3 bet fold

Well you are going to lose a lot of tournaments that way in the long run.

I think your 3bet pre is a little high, 8-900 seems like a better choice, after your 1200 bet you only have 3300 behind, so effectivley for you there is about 7200 in the pot after guy RR and Utg shoves and your are getting over 2 to 1 and it’s tempting for you to call with AQ, it’s such an easy fold after UTG shoves the rest of his chips. Even though the guy on your left is RR light that is not gonna be that case very often… obviously a bad player since he thought AJ was a good hand there unless he thouht he could get you to fold a better hand, and at best you are hoping to be flipping. Do you really wanna flip this early? Blinds at 75/150 you are able to reraise, and can still can 3bet especially with his 2x raise but you are teetering on the spot where it’s not a good option, you are almost always commited after you 3bet so I think maybe a stuffy baker would be a way better option if you are calling someone elses shove anyways, you are too short in this spot to be 3 bet folding after making that big of a raise, if it was smaller then 3 bet folding MIGHT be a viable option IMO.
