Hey guys, would like a line check. Thinking i can probably fold turn here but would be interested as it was my first 1k live tourny.

we all have around 25k stacks with blinds at 25/50, its about the 2 orbit into the tourny and nothing major has happened.

UTG opens to $150, fold, HERO (QdQC) raise to $400, Folds to button, Button (Young kid with headphones and hoodie on, later i found out he has a few good tourny scores online) makes it $900, fold, fold, UTG folds, HERO calls.

*So im basically calling here to see a flop. I dont want to make the pot any bigger OOP and its very early on in the tournament so no need to get silly. I think folding QQ here is pretty weak against an unknown and my hand can be underepped here if some villains can't hand read correctly.*

Flop ($2025)
3c 10h Jh

HERO checks, Villan bets $900, HERO Calls.

*I think he can be c-betting here with alot of his range, so again i think its too weak to fold*

Turn ($3825)
3h

HERO checks, Villan bets $2200, HERO Calls.

*Now I think this is where we can find a fold. My range for him now starts to become 10/jj/qq/kk/AA Ak/Aq with a heart. So against this range im not really doing that well. However i think he would start checking back all over pairs with no heart because he wouldnt want to be c/r here. So it seems like a bad barrell with AA and no heart imo. This reduces combos of his KK/AA and made me lean to calling and that he has AK here with A or K of hearts.*

River ($8225)
3s

HERO checks, Villan bets $4500, HERO folds.

* Now i think if he bets river im only beating AK. To me this seems like a bad spot to bluff for him, so when he bets im now changing his range to KK/AA. Especially given a cold 4 bet pre. Dont think im ever good here*

Would love to know your thoughts, epecially on turn,  probably can find a fold there.

He did show after the hand so will give results after discussion if people want.

Hey man. I think you might have a misunderstanding of their potential range. Young kids love to go nuts preante deep in position in the high buyins right? I see hh's of it all the time. Just clicking back with all kinds of hands. Iso-ing the 3bettors probably defined range (because people are tighter preante or something)

He can do this with big hands, blocker hands, hands that flop well and will still be deep enough to play post flop in position. I gave him A3s. 87h 98h turning themselves into bluffs because, well, I think you clearly have showdown value and because it's obvious, he may think he can get you to fold because his bluff shouldn't work. I gave AQh AKh AhKx AhKx KQh as well. I think he's turning these flushes into bluffs because if you have big broadway cards that block bigger pairs, so your showdown value is actually going to be lower more often. I don't think he'd bet the turn with any KK hand, and I think he'd bet the turn with Ah hands actually because he is still getting called by worse (same with KK, but AA would then get value from KK still)

Hey okay I did that, then I looked at bet size. I think I just had an aha moment. But it may be a misplacement of the thought process. He bets half pot on the river. He needs a bluff to value range of 1:2. When you're the bettor it's probably easier to remember that lol. Thinking backwards here, Idk. I think I'm getting somewhere. But that range I gave actually was 1:2 pretty much..you have 37.5% equity over that range. I don't know. I wouldn't put it past a young guy if he seems capable. If it's a reentry, then I feel more confident he'd turn those few flushes into bluffs. I don't think he'd bluff every flush, like A2s-A5s type flushes. adding more seems like too many bluffs to put in just because. But I think because you clearly have showdown value, he can turn his flushes into bluffs because your sdv can still be afraid of triple barrels. I'm really tired and wasn't playing my A-game earlier tonight, so I'm doing this now. I wonder how I'll feel about what I've written when I wake up in the morning. I changed the bluff flushes from the missed straightflush gut shots to the A2h A4h and A5h. It doesn't really matter if those are correct because theyre binary at the river. win/lose. if we take the same number of combos over its the same. i don't realy know. we can take another bluff out and its actually closer to being even or whatever.

To me, you lost so many more chips than you had to by going to the river with this. 5 bet pre. If he has aces or kings, he likely lets you know then and there rather than you having to guess afterward.

As played, probably folding flop, but absolutely folding turn. Plenty of tournament left to be played.
