Early on in tourny and in this particular hand I felt like we were being slow playd with made flush or likely up against flush drws. I know at this level with two cards to come no1 is folding if holding the ace spade or j of spade so I wasnt slow playng but just didnt want to build a really big pot. How wrong am I for not raiseing turn. Can I ever call river for value with no spade on such a small bet?

at no point in the hand have you attempted to define your opponents range, they could have literally anything here.

fwiw i would lead this flop 120 and try and thin the field

i heard a good piece of advice once – it is extremely hard to flop a flush, and even if they have it, you still have 25% equity to fill up. most of the time you are 60-40 against a combo draw.

so i would lead here and look to get it in to be honest. not sure if that is correct or not. any other thoughts?

I would check/raise the flop to get info. and limit the field…re-evaluate turn. Prob. shut it down if anyone came along.

I would bet flop. As played – check/raise flop, and bet non-spade turn, imho, all hands with spade going to pay all the time.

I would have lead the flop for around half pot and done the same on the turn. Check folding river after the spade hits.
