So, I play in a weekly private tourney with the same 20 or so people – everybody put up $300 in the beginning of the year, we play a $5 private tourney each week, points are awarded, best 20 games are counted, and the top 3 people at the end of the year will get $2K to go play in a cheappo WSOP event next year. Obviously you want to win every time, but just getting the top 3 every time would get you a win in the end…
Anyway, we were down to 6 players, and the two blinds were sitting out! Everybody was playing pretty tight – often folding to small raises pre-flop. UTG folds to me & I have K8s. I raised 2.5x & the button calls…
A few hands prior, we were in a similar spot, I led out on the flop, he raised & I folded.
The flop brings me top & bottom pair & I'm thinking – disco. I'll take the same line, but if he raises me this time, I'll ship over top.
So, I lead out, he raises, I ship.
It seemed like a real obvious hand to me & like there wasn't really any other line to take… So, if this is a dumb hand to ask about, I apologize – I just wanted to get other's opinions in an effort to learn… Maybe given the stack sizes & the fact that two were sitting out, I didn't need to butt heads with the other chip leader & should have been a little more conservative…. Also given the satellite like structure of the tourney, maybe I should have slowed down… I'd appreciate any opinions and/or insight – thanks!

He did not show much agression PF so his hand cant be tgat strong. I don’t see anything wrong other than the size of the 3 bet. I would try to get the money all in post flop so if you think he is gonna stack off with his hand then it’s fine. I’d prob try to raise it to 16-1800 to see if he will shove over the top. If he flats the 3 bet then I’m prob shoving most turns unless a diamond shows up. You like a 4-1 fav post flop if he has a pocket pair or suited diamonds.
