I had been playing tight, close to chip leader.  A lot of limping going on.

Blinds are 200-400, 8 handed, i have about 24000.  I get dealt A-4 suited UTG +1, I probably should have just folded pre, but I had been playing tight and I wanted to mix it up a little, figure they would respect my raise.

Anyhow, UTG limped, I raise to 1100, the button calls and BB calls and UTG calls.  Flop is Ah, Qc, 4h.   BB checks, UTG bets 6000.   UTG has been playing tight also, nothing out of line or crazy.  UTG has about 20,000 in chips behind after the 6,000 raise.

Should I just flat and re-evaluate turn?  Or just shove?  …or be a total nit and fold?  I really don't see folding as an option the way it was played pre.  I figure if he had top two or a set, he would check and let me cbet it.

if you are going to play A4 UTG+1, then this is exactly the type of flop you are hoping for, so you have to get it in here

I would get out of the habit of playing hands like this pre and just fold

we're kind of depending on the rest of the table to be paying attention and be thinking players who 'read' us as tight

If my calculations are right theres 4600 in the pot (4×1100 + the SB's 200)

and he donk lead over bets? were there any antes?

regardless, you're like not ever beat here so get it in

the only possible hands that beat us are 44 and AQ and if he hit that flop with either then he's not playing it this way

to me it looks like he has a bigger A than us pre like AJ,AT,A9,A8 and is trying to protect his hand against all the draws out there, or pot building with a hand like KhQh, QhJh

Like benny said – this is a dream flop for our hand

orrrrrr iiiiiiiiin

Thanks all.  Yea I figured I played it correctly post.  I was just being results oriented and questioning myself…I did end up shoving and of course he had AQ.   I guess my biggest mistake was playing it pre, I usually don't in EP, but I literally didnt play a hand in about 3-4 orbits, oh well lesson learned.
