How much do you c-bet here and do you get it in when raised?
I'd do my usual c bet around 45-55% pot with my entire range repping an A
Bet fold when we miss
In this spot c betting 1/2 pot is ideal b/c it gives him the illusion of FE and he'll spew with Ax's and way too many draws out there for us to fold
get it in, we're ahead of his reshove range
A couple of questions i would ask myself here.
– Does he think we have the ace given our line? – probably
– Does he think we're folding our ace to the small c/raise? – probably not
so if our range is well defined and he doesn't want/expect that we're folding the ace, what does he have?
If i was to breakdown his range in this spot i would expect almost every 44,55,A5,A4,54 to do this and some A2, A3, 4dxd, 6x7x. AK and AQ would probably 3bet pre with his stats. I dont see much else out there other than the odd bluff
The problem for me is, would you really c/raise this small (click it back almost) with a flush draw, or any draw, knowing your opponent has an ace most likely? – No.
For me your either crushed or facing a spewtard who is misplaying/bluffing his weaker hand/draw. I don't see what value you get from shoving, your always getting called by the hands your crushed by (majority of his range imo) and sometimes folding out his draw/weaker aces/bluffs.
I know you only have a pot sized stack left, but i would flat and evaluate in position in case he is a spewtard/bluffing. Im probably folding to a turn shove
Very good analysis Goliath.
Two things that should have made me think was his flat pre which according to his stats was uncharacteristic (active 3 bettor) and the fact he basially clicks back on the flop.
We ended up allin and he had AK. I'm not sure I could have done much different except maybe check back the flop and try to see a cheap SD. Pretty hard to get away from it after the flop and following action.
With 5 players left to act and a 20bb stack I'd only openshove AQ+, 99+ and fold all other hands. Maybe raise AA/KK to pick off spewers depending on our preveious actions (have we shoved 20bb before or did we raise hands when we had 25bb+ stack) and image.
As played I'm not getting away from AJ here although were mostly crushed by what appears to be a solid player.
Couple of options
either shove pre, 21bb is a bit big but theres ante's so its not horrible – only issue is kinda over repping ur hand a litte ie A10 folds to our bet most of the time unless its a super spaz.
cbet bigger should be standard around 55%-60% of pot and when he reraises you click all in so quickly that you nearly strain your mouse finger . You started with 21bb, dont look for excuses to fold the winning hand.
Also to the person saying does he think we have an ace “probably”, theres a chance you might be giving cbets on an A high flop too much credit.
agree sizing and optimal lines are something that not a lot of micro stake players know, or even care about (thats exactly how we become better players by discussing and posting in these forums!)
whether it's a min raise, a 3x, or a check shove i'm probably still gettin it in here
