Hey guys, not often I post on this part of the forums, I got in a discussion with a friend regarding this hand.

As title says, it’s the Final Table Hot $7.5 we have no reads, all players are unknown.

In the spoiler you have my friends thoughts, but I want to hear yours first.

“at first i was like yeah standard snap
even by nash ICM it’s worth 0.16% pp gain
which is huge i think (anyone who can confirm if it is or not please do)
but then I look at the stacks,
3 of which have 66% of our stack
so now I’m leaning on fold
A2o just plays so horribly when we GII
Been reading some Arnold Snyder recently, he’s talking a lot about modern MTT “standard” strategy having been developed by mathematicians who are poor logicians.
Mathematically we can shove and make money but is it the optimal solution?
Can’t see how it can be…
When we shove and win we chip up and there are still 6 ppl left
When we shove and lose we are in 6th and out”

With 10bb here, any ace is an easy jam. We’d have to tighten up our shove-calling range because of icm, but our shoving range shouldnt change too much on 10bb.

NM,

I may have missed it on the link but the payout structure here is very important. Yes you have 10 BB, but you are 3rd of 6 at the table and the 3 shorties are 8/8/7 BB.

Provide the payouts and I will do an ICM calculation for you.

But without that, IMHO, the chip leader is not the one you want to be jamming into here with ICM considerations. It is unfortunate that he is to your direct left.

I think the answer here is not possible to get without knowing the payout structure.

I also think in this spot, midway through a tourney and not yet near the bubble, this is an easy shove.

Link to the ICM calc

My friend did do the ICM calc and did comes up to the result that it’s a profitable jam. You get the rest of his thinking in the spoiler.
