Day 2 $260 buy in Chicago Charitable Event. Final 4 of about 200 runners. $9000 up top and $4000 to fourth.
Hero has 1.6M – Villain has 1.3M. Chip leader 1.7M and another 1.3M stack.
hero has solid image TAG but has been opening up short handed. Villain has been short stacked all day and keeps surviving an array of all in preflop situations. small sample of post flop play by unknown V.
Blinds 20k/40k with a 20k BB ante (a bit odd that ante is sb)
Folds to Hero in sb holding QT. Hero raises to 180K, V calls. (pot 380k). Flop is QKJ. Hero bets 200k, V raises to 475k. Hero?

Hello JFF.
I had a whole reply written but it was a load of me trying to be clever around polarised ranges and whatnot so I deleted it and all I can say is that AFAIAC it’s a call OTF. 1) I’m certainly not folding it! With backdraw straight and (nut) flush draws, just call and see what happens OTT.
You have to be prepared to throw it away OTT though. 2) Villain is giving himself 2-1 if you check and he shoves on the turn, it looks as though he isn’t folding ever.
And I’m definitely not shoving. 3) Is he ever calling with worse if we shove? There might be a couple holdings he might call with which are worse, but most of his range crushes yours. And better isn’t folding, and I expect he is usually ahead here OTF as I said.
So, for me it is a call/re-evaluate on the flop.
Curious as to how you played it. For myself it is so much a call here it’s probably 100%. Which is not to say I’m correct. Curious if anyone finds another line here and the reasoning for it?
