Playing the 11$ SH DS on lock we about 7 away from the money and just like all tourneys on lock the avg stack vs blinds are really short.. so dispite only having 21bb im still like 14 of 34 remaining.. i tend to play kinda aggro near the money BC so many tight up and plus since we are all playing short i can keep the bet small and still achieve the same effect.
so… the villian in the hand just got moved to my table with 23bbs… ive been playing alot of hands prior to this one and been pick up uncontested puts here and there.. my image ATM is agrro but the villian doesnt know this.. since he was just moved… Let me know what you would do pre- post etc…. if you would just fold here pre on the BTN or raise and do what after the flop…. i was fist pumping when the flop rolled off and when he open jammed i didnt snap call… but i couldnt find a fold either… kinda of a messed up spot 7 away from the money… any and all thoughts welcomed…

OK, I have stoved a few hands vs A6 you are 67.60% vs TT you are 54.44% vs 56 you are 52.73% vs 55 you are 42.12% vs ATss you are 43.33% vs 34 you are 51.90% vs (6c6d, 6c6h, 6d6h, 5c5d, 5c5h, 5d5h, 2c2d, 2c2h, 2d2h, AsKs, AsQs, AcJc, AsJs, AsTs, As9s, Ac6c, Ad6d, Ah6h, KsQs, KsJs, KsTs, QsJs, 6c5c, 6d5d, 6h5h, 43s, Ac6d, Ac6h, Ad6c, Ad6h, Ah6c, Ah6d, As6c, As6d, As6h, 6c5d, 6c5h, 6d5c, 6d5h, 6h5c, 6h5d, 43o) you are 53.165% OK so you are ahead of his range, even though he is clearly playing scared his range is likely skewed to the medium strength hands rather than monsters, which improves your equity. You also have the pot in the middle, meaning that you are getting almost 1.3 to 1 (11109 into 14109) and so a call here is definitely +ev. Of course you have to allow for ICM and decide if the edge here is worth your stack, my hunch is that it is, I would make the call. PS. Sorry about the formatting, not sure how I did that or how to correct it
dont think you HAVE to call here, given that its near the money bubble and youre probably at best 66% to win (meaning 1/3 of the time you bust for $0 and the other 2/3 you dont make any extra guaranteed money…and again thats the best scenario). in an $11 tourney on bubble id bet weak opponents will show up with 99-JJ a fair bit, trying to see a safe flop and then shoving to avoid busting.
the stove above, altho really useful, doesnt look like it includes 99 which i would suspect youre a slight dog to. if we look at more realistic holdings you're practically flipping against the entirety of his range on the money bubble of a tournament.
all this said, im opening pre for sure
Opening pre everytime time, twice on Sundays. The flop is so glorious looking that it’s a tough fold but you are obviously facing an overjam of someone just protecting his hand and his min cash. I don’t think villian shows up with too much A6 or any nutted hand here (55, 66, 22, 34). I suspect the nutted hands would be a check jam.
I’m not really a fan of flipping on the bubble with only two cards to come but if you are willng to gamble so be it. In a turbo, it may be the best spot you get to build a big stack and be the difference in you winning $20 and $400. As played, it’s completely different if you are jamming over his donk bet. I always question calling off with draws on the flop when I haven’t put any additional money into the pot, but in this spot….in a 6max turbo….seriously, probably depends on my mood. Leaning towards a call and go for the win but I don’t entirely like it.

Yea.. The table was playing really passive.. And I’ve been active the past few hands.. So being on the button with 87ss I thought was a no brainer raise… But once the flop rolls and he open jammed.. I was cussing at my self… I felt like I was fav to win and like the above poster stated I wasn’t really trying to min cash I was trying to get a stack to FT…
Trying not to be results oriented after I bricked both streets an was heading to the showers .. I was saying to my self I should of just folded pre… But I think folding pre is bad here to… Thoughts??
But folding a oesfd on the flop is a -EV play right.. In the long run we should be calling here always .. Right??
I hate that I bubbled .. But I couldn’t hope for a better flop..
