Ok guys and gals. Super early in this $22 2.5K guarantee on Lock. In the early stages of tournies I noticed that I dont put a lot of thought into getting value from certain hands and I make quick decisions. I still have the intention of getting value here but feel I missed some. In later stages, I definitely get more in the zone and put a lot more thought into it and level my opponent.

Villian stats are 24/24 over 17 hands with no 3bets or 4bets thus far. How do you feel is the best way to get value here given the early stages and the little info we have on the villian? Thanks for the input.

if that is you shoving on the turn then i think its ok.

i guess the question is, do you think he will stack off pre if you just shove? my feeling is that this early in the tourney, people aren’t going to 4bet/fold, especially when they are opening from EP, so i would probably just 5bet shove pre

Ya, I don't think hes folding either after he 4b's so I'd go ahead and just shove pre and hold against his Queens.

agree

beautiful A for top set but at the same time ugly A for his 4bet range given that we have AA

we dont get any value post flop so we have to hope he calls the whole lot pre

This. Either CIB and let him jam or do it yourself and let him call. No one is 4 betting light/leveling in this mtt and the Ace killed your action vs. his pocket pair.

Thanks guys. The more I looked at this after I posted it, the more I thought it was silly of me to just flat the 4bet. I wanted to see if this was an automatic 5bet or if you guys thought you might try something different in this spot once in a while. I obviously tried something different and it cost me a lot of value. Good to know where your missing value smile
