Firstly, great to be back in the forums posting after my recent troubles.

Secondly, i've been loving playing 6max SnG sattys that gurantee 2 seats to various MTT's like the sunday cubed, nightly 40k etc etc and wasnt intending on playing but didnt realise the tourney had already started (not the first time this has happened)

Anyways, not the most exciting post but i encounter this type of spot early in MTT's a lot… we raise from LP, get called, C bet the flop, and are faced with a decision on the turn to 2 barrell or not.

What things do you all take into account when 2 barrelling or checking behind?

I guess the only thing to say about the river is that he probably bets almost all of his hands b/c i checked the turn so is that a case to bet our air on the turn?

I feel like we have enough showdown to check behind so i went and did so.

without reads or stats i'd play it the same. (especially that early in a tourney)

i would just 2 barrell here when i have a read that villain floats the flop often. and i think the Tc is also not the best card for us to 2 barrell. but i'm a very conservative player 😉

My 2 barrell is based on board texture and reads on villian to potentially fold to continued aggression. This board is not a good texture to two barrell on. You have to consider the hands they put you on and represent boards that could possibly hit your range. Nothing wrong with how you played it and his river looks like complete value. Well played, easy fold on river.

Honestly I probably check back, fold to a Turn lead, and then go into re-shove mode.

It's a flop that smashes calling ranges and the Turn makes things even worse if we do c-bet and get called. I don't see a bet and take it situation here hardly ever and we'll bleed another 4+ bb's on the flop c-betting just to punt the rest or shut down.

We have showdown value so I don't think we have to c-bet here and we could always pair up on the Turn for free.
