No reads on villian as this is a new table for me. He is running 13/13 over 16 hands or so. I know its early but a part of me wants to call this down so he can show me a worse Q but know a draw is likely as well. Anyone call here because we know this is likely a draw and sometimes a worse Q? We are almost never behind here imo.

I cbet here almost always…I decided to get a little tricky here in a multi-way and not bloat pot and see how people played it.

Man Hawk, tough spot….with the villains call pre his range obviously smashes this flop. For some reason QJ is screaming at me here. Maybe JJ, but does he just flat pre with it, and does he jam the flop?,unlikely. Could be 44 and he is afraid of the draws. The other hand I see is kqhh with tpgk with flush draw, but does he play it like this? I just think with little to history with the guy I may make a tough fold and wait to felt him later. On the other hand, I feel like I don’t take enough spots like this to really increase my stack if he does table a worse queen with a draw.

With Merge though I seldom see guys bluffing here unless they are a maniac i’ve seen going crazy prior. The other night saw a villain open shove 200bb with AA in the short handed super stack tourney. Then other times they turn over crap. So I go back to my original line…tough spot. What did you do?

most the time i just wtf-fold here unless i have a really decent read. as terbet said, a lot of the time this is a set or 2 pair that is scared because the board is so drawy. or if it is some sort of draw, you are still at best 65%, and a 35-40% risk of busto this early in the tourney is a bit high imo

Yeah, I am also sigh folding here. If I had any history with the guy then I might be able to make a call but he is clearly shit from this bet sizing and it's hard to know if he is doing it with a draw or with a made hand. On 888 there was a trend for people to do this (though never to the same extent that I saw) with an overpair. Without a read on this I fold and then target him.

…having said that, I don't hate a call at all. In fact the more I look at it the closer I think it is so I'll just climb back up on the fence a little.

Thanks for the replies. This is a wtf-fold for me most of the time like Benny said. I however did call as I figured it was a chance for me to get some great chips early and as I stated, did not think I was behind at the moment. A couple people expressed that it is a tempting call so glad I am not the only one. I will wait just a little longer to put results in case anyone else wants to comment.

If villain made a normal sized bet were you gonna check/raise? If you were planning a c/r were you folding to a jam or a re-raise?

check/calling. Disguise hand and not bloating pot on wet board. Just changing it up and would have let him barrel off.

So I called. Villian turns over KTo for just an open ended. Spew city.
