Day 3 of the WSOP Europe Mini Main was the final table consisting of 7 players.

Very interesting dynamic on the FT. Villain started the day as a massive chipleader and had been playing very aggressively towards the end of Day 2. At the start of Day 3, he continued this and had a close to 100% RFI, getting completely out of line. People had started to cotton on to this and played back against him and he’d started to calm down a bit.

This hand takes place about 1 hour into the session with 6 players left.

Blinds 200k/400k/400k BB ante. Villain in CO with about 30m. Hero in BB with 18m.

Villain opens to 800k. Hero calls BB with Kdiamond8heart.

Flop (2m) KclubTdiamond6club. Hero checks, villain bets 650k. Hero calls.

Turn (3.3m) 2heart. Hero checks, villain bets 3.3m. Hero calls.

River (9.9m) Jclub Hero?

I just called the flop because I just wanted villain to barrel off.

Turn I guess I have to call this as I’m pretty close to the top of my range.

On the river, I wasn’t sure whether to put in some sort of block bet. If not, I felt that check/folding was my only option as Jc helps quite a lot of villain’s hands, a lot of which I don’t block.

Last street first, I am never blocking here.  We already have a marginal bluff catcher (block none of the big hands).  I’d also expect Villain to recognize that, and jam a lot here.  I don’t think we are getting much value with a bet, and I don’t think it will stop Villain from bluffing

Flop call is unremarkable.  Turn is where you need to decide if you are going with it.  In theory, you are supposed to have turn calls and river folds, and Villain is supposed to have turn bets and river give ups.  In reality, an exploit you can make is to just fold here on turn or call and plan to call all rivers.

This is, of course Villain dependent.  It sounds like your Villain might be triple barreling here too much, in which case, I guess you can close your eyes and call down.
