Do you think I played TT too carefully? The guy I was against in the pot is winning player and did not open many hands.
Ace was a scare card on the flop for me therefore I decided not to put any more chips in the pot unless I hit T on the board. Opponent showed strenght pre-flop and I decided to give him credit.
I think it's either pre-flop all in or giving up after the flop. How would you play it?

I think the 39 bbs is to much to pshove with pocket tens,, , you were problay better to call , try for hit a set and play small pot with tens.
what was your thinking on the turn? it looks like a good hand to try a steal donk , which if you had just called preflop. you could of did it for the price of the calling of the 4 bet.

I would either 3b with the intention of 5b jamming over a 4b or just call in this spot. Unless you have reads that he will call your 3b with a wide range and only 4b the top then you could make a good case to 3b with the plan of folding to a 4b. You got scared by his 4b and decided to call to set mine when you were way way way too shallow to set mine. You called off 2/13ths of your stack to set mine when you only hit 1/8 times.
I would almost always 3b/5b jam in this spot unless the opener was really tight. Make it larger preflop OOP and 39bb deep. I would make it 2700 with intention of calling a 4b jam or 5b jamming over a 4b. This sizing is large enough to discourage flats, but leaves him enough room to 4b bluff. Because you said he was a winning player, he will be more likely to 4b bluff than randoms.

In this spot it all depends on the history of the villain, but in most cases I just call playing my 10s for value and calling pre. I am not playing them for set mining, because you are ahead of the villain's range and your hand will be under repped. In many cases, you are going to be able to take the hand post. By 3 betting with 10s you are going to be bloating the pot oop and it is going to be difficult to play post with scare cards on the board. I believe when you are 4 bet by the villain pre, he is never light (especially in a $2 tourney). I don't hate the call pre after being 4 bet to flop the 10 ball, but at best you are flipping on the 5 bet shove. Best of luck at the tables.
