Scoop ME 109$ , the CO is huge fish. First time I've seen the BTN limp so that's odd. SB is decent.

BTN is playing 29/20/2 over 100 hands with 20% fold to three-bet and AF=3 and has been showing down strong hands (ie running hot).

Im thinking a cbet of like 9800 or so, such a wet board, would be hard for him to continue without a decent club. I keep changing my mind though.

Yah tough spot IMO. I really sees lots of readons to cbet to take the pot down but sometimes you are gonna get worse hands to get you to fold cause you really are gonna have to fold to any aggression.

I really only think we can get one street of value here. I think you have to cbet/fold. Checkin is gonna allow him to represent alot of hands in position. Cbetting here will give us the most information and help eliminate a lot of guessing. It also will put him to a tougher decision with the vast majority of his range.

This is a fine spot to c bet, for a number of reasons.

First is that odds are he doenst have a club, even if he flopped a pair here, continuing without a club is aksing for trouble.  As he is going to be playing a big pot hoping for a good run out, AND hoping his hand is already best.  He is never in great shape versus the vast majority of our hands, and is often behind.  You raised from the BB, which usually indiciates you have a strong hand, cause you had the option to take a free flop, and 2 of the 3 people that could call your raise will have position on you.

Second, is that the average player is not bluffing this board.  These are not boards people really go after unless they have the Ac or something, and that is a semi bluff.  People who miss this flop, or havea  ahnd liek 66 no club, are not really going to try to hero on these type of boards.

I would continue here, with a bet anwyhre between 10-11.5k.  These boards may seem scary but tend to be easier to play due to the fact that their range is a little more obvious in these spots.  If they call their range consists of good clubs, made flushes, or a good 9, a VAST majority of the time, and we dont see a lot of pure floats or even light floats.

maybe i'm the worst, but I'm prob check-folding this flop.

note: if this pot were heads up, I'd be cbetting a lot of the time.

at least one of these guys has a pair, and is rarely folding this flop.  the limp/call line by the button seems like hands that def could've hit a set on this flop.

also QJ,AJ,KJ,KQ type hands where the Ac or Kc is in their hand range

just don't see much merit, with our hand, and so little equity/out vs. their calling range to betting this flop.

.

ask yourself why you'e betting, and what hands can we expect to fold this flop?

I just can't find too many hands that flat your bet pre, that are just giving up on this flop.

if called, I can't find many turns, I am happy double barreling

and we're OOP.  just check/fold and preserve our stack imo.

Correct me if im wrong but I'm pretty sure the flop is  heads up kingten, also

re: “I just can't find too many hands that flat your bet pre, that are just giving up on this flop.”

I think there is a reasonable amount of hands that flat pre that are possibly giving up here, pretty much any non pockets that doesnt have a club.

too me it seems that villain is calling your raise here pretty wide. with getting such good odds pre with all the dead money and a lot of IO i think he is doing it with something like this

77-22,KQo-KTo,QJo-QTo,JTo,T9o,98o,87o,A9s-A2s,KQs-K2s,QJs-Q9s,JTs-J9s,T9s-T8s,98s-97s,87s-86s,76s,65s 20%

if we look at the flop and bet aorund half pot our bet has to work 33% of the time.

if i assign villain a very wide calling range including all but the weakest pairs and all draws he is still only connecting with the board 50% of the time.

this makes a 1/2pot bet highly profitable.

i probably give up as vs his calling range we only have 20%

cheers

Here is my thought on the c-bet.  If I am the button, I am calling or raising any c-bet you make here.   If I call, its to rep that I could have 2 clubs already.  If I raise, its to say I have the Ac and I find out your desire to finish this hand on this board.

If you check the flop, you are cautious and I check to see if I have a club.  If I dont, I may just check behind, right?

misread the action.  thought CO and button both called.  my mistake!

prob a cbet…..but what is our plan on the turn if flatted?

what cards are we barreling….or is our plan(very weak if so) to bet…check-fold most turns

i think giving up when our cbet is called/raised is fine, he obv has good draws, at least a stonger hand that us, and if not, well played. I think the main point is that a cbet is most probably +cve
