hi guys and girls this is my first post here on the forum, i posted this hand as it caused quite a bit of debate with some others i discussed it with. i argued that when i check raise flop bet turn and if i had shoved river i couldnt get called by much that i beat, but the some said that i could get called by worse here a fair amount……..what you think? appreciate replies.

bet river for value, but there is no need to raise flop with this SPR, and if we do we should make it bigger so that we can shove turn.

It sets up an awkward SPR on the turn but as played you can easily jam river for value with an SPR of 1/2.

I would either play this hand as c/r flop jam turn, or flat flop lead turn jam river.

but really i would fold pre as i dont see this defend being super profitable given positon and absense of reads.

i would lead flop, lead turn, jam river.

if you c/r flop then bit bigger to jam turn. You dont want to see an action killing diamond. on river that may scare him off.

as played in a 4$ i insta ship river without even thinking of what worse calls me.

cheers

I think it’s appropriate to to value bet here. In game these are situations where I often take your line and it’s pretty much a leak that I’m working on too.

Your line is fine, I like the check raise on the flop and lead on the turn. Villain is choosing to call down and not raise on a very draw heavy board. I’d think he’d be getting is stack in with a monster. I’m taking a lot from the new TPE theory series on hand reading. But I think he has a marginal holding that he doesn’t want to raise with but at the same time isn’t willing to fold. Value bet that shit bro.

thanks for the feedback guys, worth saying that pre flop i think defending imo is ok because im not just going to stack off on a one pair flop unless its a combo draw also i check river to allow missed flush draws to have a stab.

I def. would defend to a min raise, dont hate defending here but based on villains 3x sizing i think i fold tbh.   We arent deep enough to be defending OOP and when we flop any piece the bets will be much bigger based on his 3x sizing.  Again, had he min raised i am flatting all day and night!

As played i would def be betting river for value as i think we can get called by worse often and im not seeing too many missed flush draws to bluff catch.

I am gonna agree with Duggs here on our check/raise sizing.  Super important that we set up turn jam as a lot of cards will hault the action so we want to be able to lead shove turn.

I assume you check raise turn so you could lead river…but you changed your mind coz of the ace? I admit, AK is part of his range here but yourhand is too big just to check. I lead river after CR turn but would consider folding to a river jam an rangeing on AK

Upswing potential is huge

thanks for all replies really appreciate it. runlikeyum <—— i didnt check raise the turn i check raised flop, reason why i check raised flop is that he could of put me on a draw,i didnt go for value on the river as i check raised flop and bet turn now if i shoved river at the time i didnt think many worse hands could call here but as people explained its a $4 game and i may of levelled myself a bit. thanks
