This was my 1st EVER live event >$20buy-in about 3 years ago
6max MTT FO – approx 150 runners Buy-in $350
Top 12 places pay, 1st prize approx 10k (this is a HUUUUUGE prize not anything close to what i have had previouslyor currently even)
19 people left – i have top 3 stack at 42k
My table is 4 handed and i am SB.
Blinds 600/1200/100
BB – good asian guy 25k
UTG – Villain older tight guy 37k
Button – Young tight guy 22k
Hero SB – 42k
The very hand prior to this one we were 5handed and the villain tight guy insta 3bet shoved 19k over an UTG 3x who had 18k
Standard spot and he wins with AQ>AK and takes his stack to 37k-ish
Up to this point he had been very tight and had never been out of line/playing post flop without the goods and stealing little
When 4 handed, while still stacking his chips from the previous hand, he peeks down at his cards and immediately says “all-in” for 30BB's or so
Young guy folds
Action is on me and i look down at AdKd
Salient points
– I have a monster hand 4 handed
– I am very deep in my biggest live tourney ever and could probably cash playing tight and stealing a little (just cashing here would actually have been my biggest win at that point)
– His image is very tight
– His open is very unusual for him and it's massive!
Would anyone call here?

Yeah 4 handed AK amd suited! Fist pump shove. If he has AA, KK so be it, you can't ask for a better hand this deep.
Super quick call…expect to be flipping a lot but dominating a majority. Never AA here…your hand cuts down on that possibilty combinatorically

That hand really had my head in b/c i called – he had AQo
Flop was 3card flush draw for him, and turn paired his Q – so i was basically dead
I lost and ended up not cashing and immediately thought what i'd done was wrong b/c i felt like i lost my chance at a huge win
Over it now though
