$215 SCOOP 8max, basically readless, have history with most of the table but only 13 hands against villain. I was tempted to write this off as a cooler, but once I thought about it, I have very few bluffs in my range and can’t think of anything weaker than QT that I play this way for value.

Not sure if I want to be getting away from a straight with a turn SPR < 1, but villain needs to reach turn with a lot of Jx and/or call down a lot of AK/KQ combos for me to be betting profitably here.

He’s getting almost 4:1 on a river call, so I’d be surprised if he folded AK. FWIW I’d size up a little on flop to set up a turn shove. This isn’t a board where you want to go three streets IMO.

I am not calling QTs on SB against utg raise, perhaps too tight?

I would shove turn for ~pot size bet here, V will be all over that board

I like playing suited broadways vs any position from the SB, but at <35bb I drop at least KTs/QTs from my range vs UTG – MP1 regardless of open sizing. I don’t think I’m calling a 2.5bb raise here with KTs/QTs, but at this price I’m stoked to get in there. I start folding anything worse than KJs vs seats other than CO/BTN at <30bb effective. Haven’t really worked on these ranges for a while so I might need to update them, but I don’t mind being OOP with suited broadways if I’m deep enough to have some postflop maneuverability.

To Andrew’s point, I really need to work on my check-raise sizing. I still remember the KK hand we reviewed in one of our coaching sessions, and I definitely improved my flop sizing at the time, but a year later I’ve slipped back into making similar mistakes. Looking at this off the table, it’s obvious that my check-raise range is extremely narrow, and this board smashes both ranges with strong but vulnerable hands. Going 52% seems way too small. I think shoving might make villain fold too many one pair hands, but something like 15-17bb (73-86%) should keep more marginal hands interested.

I think this exposes one of my mental game leaks. In game, I think about ranges and use board texture to decide if I’m going to check-raise, but for sizing I fall into thinking along the lines of “how do I want to size my bluffs at this stack depth?” In the moment, I tend to forget how much ranges and texture should influence my sizing. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I want to be sizing larger when I’m polarized/narrow and smaller when I’m playing a wider/more merged range. I’m also incentivized to size up on more dynamic boards, and when both players have strong ranges.

FWIW, I sized the way I did planning to shove turn for pot, but the board pairing made me uncomfortable shipping it in. This may be another mental game leak, but it was at least based on strategic considerations. My value targets changed from KJs/J9s/sets to AK/KQ/AJ, and I felt the milkier sizing would keep more of those hands involved. My gf’s about to kill me if I don’t start cleaning the kitchen, so I don’t have time to break down the combos and see if that makes much sense, but I welcome (ie. desperately need lol) any feedback.
