hey

reads – V has been active, not see any hands showdown.

I dont hate my call otf , i did wanna raise, but our hand is rather marginal so keeping the pot small is okay. Ott we do improve and the reason why i never lead/ c/r here was because i was thinking that its possible v has a hand like QT, i’m not to sure if v will play a 9x this way , that’s doubtful, so i guess we can discount trips?  OTT , we are ahead of A-K, A-Q , K-Q. I’m not to sure if flush draws are in their range.

do we lead/c/r turn or was the call okay? i personally think the call was okay.

as for the river , i just find it gross, Q-T has us beat and so does A-Q, but i find it hard to believe they’ll play A-Q this way. We do beat missed flush draws (if those are in their range) and we also beat AK, but i doubt v will shove this as they are not getting called by worse.

thoughts please?

cheers.

i lean towards c/r flop.

board is pretty drawy and a lots of turns are gonna make it though for us to continue.

any heart, K, Q, T, A is not optimal. We are basically hopping for a J or 9.

With 30bb eff we also want to c/r a lot of our draws to gii. Moreover we have way more 9x then villain which we want to c/r.

what worse hands are calling the flop c/r? J-Q J-T?  T-T?  Q-T or a combo draw like Q8hh,? i do agree that we have more 9x in their range then they do. i think its unlikely v will bet a hand like AJ like this OTF as well.

I see this as a continuation bet on a paired board (also wet, yes). I think I’m ahead of the raiser’s range. My first inclination is to check-raise.

If this board were J33 rainbow, I would probably check/call and then check/raise the turn.

Your line looks good, and I agree that there’s not much point in check-raising. Yes, you’re likely ahead of V’s range, but will you STILL be ahead if a c/r is called? Check-raising into a heart draw isn’t that appealing, it will probably have at least one overcard so you don’t gain that much by raising and you’ll have to play out of position on a lot of bad run outs. You had a good bluff-catcher on river, in that you block JJ and KK, so although you’re right that you only beat a bluff, I’d call anyway unless you have reason to think V’s bluff frequency will be excessively low.

@foucault , I believe yes we could be ahead if V called our c/r but we may also be behind , it’s a tough spot and like you said it will be tough to play this hand OOP in a pot thats’ going to be pretty big with a hand that is marginal.

I was thinking that on the turn if we decide to lead out there’s a lot more value init then checking. To get value from A-K , A-Q ,  K-Q and perhaps flush draws? though If v had those hands i reckon he would bet them OTT anyway. By checking we allow them to bluff and win a decent size pot vs a hand like 87s.

what im trying to get at is that there may be a lot of 2nd best hands in v range which will be willing to call a turn bet rather then bet themselves i.e. flush draw or a hand like TT. I’m not to sure if v will or should turn this hand into a bluff OTT , I actually dont think it would be horrible if they did. if you have TT you block the straight such as QT which they can possibly represent.
