I'll post a few hands from this as I work through my HH review this week. Since I'm starting with the FT(so I can review a few times), i'll do this hand first. It comes at 4 handed play.
Villain is 42/33/12.2 over 176 hands. He's a psycho(at least in my books). It's of note that he got 2nd place in the Red Spade Open the previous week. He's been an absolute wrecking machine through the last 3 tables(that's when i started to watch all the tables in play). Very active, and not afraid to GII. Gets up to some tricky stuff as we will see in another hand I'll post later.

I can make a strong case for check raising. This board misses him a lot. It definitely hits my defending range. I can easily 3b/f to all of his shoves. I feel my flat here is because I have showdown value, but looking back there isn't really a lot of turn cards that are good for my hand. I have the 3s, 8s and the diamonds. A 4 wouldn't be too bad, but not too great either. When he leads turn I just don't like it at all. He hasn't double barrelled at all from what I remember unless he had the goods.
Thoughts?

Although you may be right…I think it's a pretty big leak considering ICM, etc. to tango with a psycho out of position. I would check-fold the double barrel and look for a better spot…hopefully in position.
Strongly disagree with this. We have the bigger stack here, so it's the villain that would be making a big ICM mistake if he stacked off light. I like check/raising turn to around 4.5M and being prepared to shove a lot of rivers (3, 8, 9, club, maybe a T if we want to rep TXcc). There are a ton of rivers that are going to be really bad for villain's hand. He has almost no b/3b range on the turn so the worst thing that can happen is he flats, and we still get to see a river card which could improve our hand or be a scare card for him.
Example of how tough this hand is for him with the 16bb stack being there: if villain has 55 here, we check/raise turn and he calls, river is the Kc (one of the less scary clubs) and we shove, he should probably fold.

While I like that analysis, and that's a line I didn't really consider, I feel that if Villain has 55 for a set, he snaps it off faster than than we can say oops. His tendancies are to get it in. Him and I have history of a hand where I actually cracked his AA with Q10s when I went running TT….
I do like the line though, and i'll consider it for future spots like this.
My biggest issue with this hand is that I really can't hand range him. I'm feeling that in this spot his range is very likely to contain cards that have hit that board. This being said, I did check fold. I felt calling the turn bet was just horrible because he is very likely to bet river again and there is no way I can check call that without improving. I could consider flatting and betting a lot of the river cards, because that looks really strong, but I'm not sure he would believe it.

Again, phenomenal job in this tournament! You should be quite proud of you accomplishment.
As for the hand, I storngly agree with theginger. Maybe it is a leak of mine, but when I see this flop, and see your flat, I wonder, “How good a flop would it have to be for you to check raise here?” The nuts? If he plays back at you then you can certainly hand range him, but to me flatting an aggro villian pre and when you smash the flop is a license for him to take your chips, imo.

Thanks Guys!
Here is what I had wrote down for my review(before I posted this thread)
#675 – I have 54s in the BB, defend is pretty standard here to a min raise from fish. Great flop of 567 with runner flush poss. I check call, which I think is a mistake given previous history(A7ss hand). I think a check raise is a better choice here, as that is a great flop for me. I can fold to his shoves as bottom pair OE is just not good enough to GII here. Flatting is not horrible, but I feel I gave it up too easily on the turn. 4th pair isn’t good though when I know I’m facing another bet on the river, and most likely another over card. I could peel and evaluate. I think flatting flop is a bigger mistake than folding turn however
I definitely didn't have the checkraise turn line in my arsenal here. It's going to be there from now on. I think check raising flop is a better choice than flatting. The previous hand I'm alluding too I had flat A7ss from BB i think, and check raise a flop of AAx. I was trying to pull the “Who would ever check raise trip aces line” in case he had a pair. He insta mucked.
@mjcace… thanks for that reply. I think it's the one I was mostly looking for, as I'm aware this is likely to be a huge leak here. Of all the hands I got involved in at the FT, this one nagged at me the most. I'm realizing that I'm only check raising with strong made hands, and that means I'm not stealing in spots I should be. I'm just going to add that I have no doubt the $40,000 pay jump was playing on my mind given that I'm 2nd in chips and we have a semi-short stack. I guess the level there is that that would also have to play on his mind, given that I have villain covered.
