Villain is pretty splashy. My plan here is c/r.  Figure that if he calls i'm probably behind TP but I have all the flush outs, and much of the time I just take it down here.  I have tons of equity and taking this down makes me a giant stack in a pretty soft tournament that I have had a lot of success in.

Thoughts?

I would say this…… That if you had an over pair/set or maybe even AJ/JT  you would lead here not check raise.  Most times when I see the check raise I think flush draw and maybe a weak pair.  So I think you may get looked up by TP and of course a set will not fold nor would KQs.   I guess what Im saying is you had the initiative I would have lead out, I think by checking then shoving it narrows your range. But being so deep you do have FE, you said he was splashy, does that mean he looks you up with Jx?

I think this is a great spot for a a check raise, your hand has tons of equity against even the top of his range.  If you get called, you are most likely behind, but still have all the flush outs, probably the tens and the maybe the nines.  Also he could call with AK or AQ of spades, which you are a small favorite I believe, because you hold two of the spades, so only 7 remain in the deck.  I figure on average you have between 40%-50% equity when called, combine that with your fold equity and I think it's a great spot.  As for what JDOG said for leading, I think there definitely is a case for that, the only problem being if you get flatted and brick the turn you are playing a big pot out of position where you will probably have to check fold the turn.  That's why I think your play is really good.  Rip it in, see two cards, and don't put yourself in a spot where you have to play a big pot OOP without a made monster.

Yeah what i meant about splashy is that I give his bet absolutely no respect…I expect him to bet nearly his entire range except for hands he wants to see the turn for free.  So a 2/3 bet means top of range for value and bottom of range as bluff.

I see value in playing it both ways depending on the villian. I certainly think the hand is probably strong enough not to get away from and it plays out easier by shipping.
