First question – thoughts on 3betting vs. calling on the flop? I considered 3betting the flop (would have gone to ~13000), since I felt like he was just playing his stack to bully and would make this check-raise with a wide range. But since it's a rush and thus I'm readless here I opted to just call. @nocturnal1 said in the TPE chat he liked the call to let him continue to bet worse aces, which was also my thinking.
I check the turn for pot control, felt like w/ his huge stack he would at least float any bet I make…thoughts?
Finally, the pot-sized river bet he leads seemed fishy sizing-wise. Seemed like he was again just putting me to the test, as from his perspective considering my raise pre and cbet-call on the flop he could put a significant portion of my range on AT-AK or a draw, and that he was lazily clicking pot instead of thinking of a value bet size. This would put me to a tough decision when I'm holding AJ or AQ which would be 50% of my perceived range of aces that he needs to bluff me to win the pot.
I did call the river, but will hold off posting results until some thoughts are posted.

your check behind on the turn induces so many hands to bluff the river, all of the hands that are less likely to call a turn bet by you (flush draws,some straight draws and even weaker aces)
but by exercising pot control (whether you know it or not) you may inadvertently make yourself look weak or drawy.
I posted a similar hand today 'tough spot with an overpair' and all the responses were exactly the same. check it out
fwiw i call 100% of the time
I don’t mind betting the turn since the river is more likely to improve his hand/range then your hand. If you get raised then I’d just fold since he probably wouldn’t checkraise his draws here so your probably beat and your hand is very unlikely to improve. Then maybe you get checked to on the river if he just flats the turn

Cool, thanks guys, that's what I thought as well and did call. He did me dirty and had turned a set of 10's. Still glad I made the call; I used to be too nitty and would have previously folded rather quickly, but I've been better at making tougher calls at times it matters which has helped.
@a10foru – yep, Dream Theater/Petrucci/metal/prog fan 🙂
