I faced this exact situation twice in the one session, and both times wasn't sure how to proceed.

Table has been very passive and I've been building my stack pretty easily just small-balling, not getting out of line much at all. I probably look around 24/20 to them.

Haven't played too many hands with villian. Have seen him call a couple of times pre-flop and then fold to cbets. He raised 4x once UTG with AJs and then called down with Ace high, so seems a bit fishy. His flop raise was almost instantaneous.

Flop: (t10950) K of diamonds 3 of diamonds 9 of diamonds (3 players)
Hero bets t8760, BB raises to t25600, CO folds

Hero ??

Questions: Is my donk bet bad? My thinking was that he would keep calling off chips with a king or a flush draw. After his insta-raise what can he have apart from a made flush? (My other reason for leading was that the original raiser was very passive, and I couldn't see him c-betting this flop.)

Easy fold?

From what you have said about the villian in the few hands you have seen, he seems like a complete fish and button clicker to me. In a $5 tournament against such a player I would get that set of 3s in no matter what. If he flopped the flush NH its a cooler and you are 1 in 3 to hit a boat or quads after flopping a set anyway. I think you will see a lot of Kx's, K9's, Adiamond etc in his range especially where you lead out he is never putting you on a set anyway. Love the lead, just either jam or 3 bet commit on the flop.

Hey Xandelas and welcome to TPE

I usually like to check to raiser and not donk bet here. Yes very wet board but I still think one of the other two players will have a crack at this board and then of course check raise. But having said that, if your read is that the original raiser would probably not c bet then your donk bet seems fine.

The way it's been played, I can't see myself folding here ever with this line of action from Button, SB & BB. Sure the BB might have a flush, but the chances of that are low, so what could he be doing this with? I would think he probably has a pair with the Ace of diamonds (A9, A3 maybe? or just the naked Ad) Have to rule out AK, KK & 99 as he did not 3 bet pre flop. Even if he somehow he flopped the flush you still have outs and win a huge pot at the right time of the tourney. I see most  players here with a flopped low flush eg 56 would just shove.

I'm shoving here after the raise. If you're beat or your repeater does not come, I would put it down as a cooler. Maybe I'm wrong, but would be more than happy to be corrected.

I actually also usually like to check to the lead here, esp of there are more than 1 villain in the hand and determine my line depending on what happens. It's not the end of the world if they all check behind, if a diamond hits we have redraw outs and if a blank hits we donk lead turn anyway.

However, the fact that this guy seems to be a fish and you say has called down with A high before makes me think he is very capable of overplaying top pair or a F draw

Therefore i also love the lead, knowing that you get value from like all K's and diamond draws.

After he raises i just snap jam this back in his face and hold…

Thanks guys. I did in fact shove and he turned over the flush but I hit a boat on the turn. The thing that has been bugging me is whether I had enough information to know he had the flush or not, but after reading the posts above I'm feeling better about the play.

it is extremely hard to flop a flush

if you go through the combinatronics, he has pair+draw a huge amount more often than he has a flush already. Add to that you pretty much always have at least 20% equity unless villain flopped a higher set.

in general, i never ever fold a set on the flop of a flushed board, especially online

Never folding here.  I like your lead even though I'd probably lead a little smaller.  I'd probably just shove here as he may put you on just the Ad and may call off weaker then if you were to flat or 3b small.
