Hi, I'd be interested in anyone's opinion on this hand. I have just been moved to the table and have no reads except Villain is a reg.

Interested in what you would do pre, post and on the turn.

Agree with the open pre. Without any reads I'm most likely flatting his 3B in position. With his stack I think his 3B range from the SB could look like 88+, AJo+, A9s+, but could also see V doing this with any suited ace.

Without any read, it's hard to interpret his 1/3 pot sizing OTF, but I think he is always c-betting on the smaller side given his stack size. When you call, whats your plan for the turn? Are you C/F unimproved? Let's say the 4d hits and he shoves? (I'm saying this for my own benefit too as I need to think more about future streets also).

With backdoor draws, getting almost 4/1, and having blockers to KK, QQ, AK, AQ I think I'm calling the flop as well. Without improving I'm most likely folding the turn, but as this board ran out I'm calling the shove.

opening pre is fine as played, calling the 3-bet is okay , i think we're getting decent odds on the call with a hand that flops well. You do block hands like AK/AQ here , not sure how many combinations there are though. anyhow i think calling shove ott on this run out is fine as played.

He's a reg, and hes 3 betting from a 24 bb stack. Sends up alarm bells to me, probably folding with no other reads

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I think I am folding the turn to another bet if unimproved. The flop bet is so small I think I have to call given he could easily have 88-JJ. I also think he could have a big A. I think a DB would define it better than a small c-bet.

Still not sure if calling the shove was correct. I think if I had thought longer I would come to the conclusion I probably couldn't beat any value hands except maybe AJ (and I don't think that's likely). I also think that I read the small flop bet as weak but when it was followed by a turn shove I probably should have reevaluated!

Thanks for the feedback. What do you range his 3B as in this scenario?

I'm new to counting combos and not 100% on this, but with you holding KQ and one of each on the board, there 3 Aces left and 2 Qs/Ks left leaving 6 combos of AK, 6 combos of AQ, and 3 combos of AA left, totaling 15 combos you are drawing dead to. If you think he shoves AJ, AT, and maybe A9s than thats 12+12+3, totaling 27 combos, meaning his range is weighted towards hands we beat (almost 2:1). Even being conservative and saying he's only shoving AJ here, thats still 15 combos that beat us vs 12 we beat, which is close. Can someone confirm my math here?

Give the stack sizes, the relative stack sizes, an the fact that he is a reg, thinking 10-10 plus. However, that is limited information. You said you only know that he is a reg, but do you think he knows anything about you. Like whether you have a high fold to 3 bet % (in which case my range might loosen) or a low one (in which case my range might even tighten)

I doubt he knows much about me. I didn't have any hands on him so I assume the same back.
