Villain was playing 25/13 over 100 hands. He had flatted my iso's a few times and folded to my cbets in and oop. When he raised me on the turn I knew what he was holding, but it was only an extra 15bb (12bb). Nonetheless it rep 40% of my remaining stack. If I was sure he turned the nuts, I shouldve been able to fold my hand or not?

the only way i can see laying down this hand and saving some chips is check calling the turn and when the Ad peels off on the river this could save me cause then a ton of hands have me beat.
but on the turn only a few hands of the range against i play have me beat so i wont fold on the turn.

do you think we can check shove the turn here?
i think that could be the best way to commit villain if he has some sort of Q.

What if he checks behind we dont want to give him free equity if he doesn't have a Q and has Ax of clubs or a diamond draw. I think we should be a little bit more esp on the turn if we are trying to get stacks in because i cant see myself folding with his stack size plus there 2 flush draws now.

if he checks behind on the turn, then we can bet for value on the river
I would have bet much more on that flop, as 33k is giving him a good price with streight and flush draws, I would have bet 3/4 pot+.
Then on the turn I would just shove for his last 160k into the 170k pot i'd created, and hope he hadn't overplayed 10J, under played QQ of hit his 66 or 99, but that would be to few hands to worry about anyway.
Why would I check the turn on such a wet board? I need to bet here for value and protection. It's just the oesd got there and when villain minraised potcomitted himself and giving me 3-1 on a call, it just felt like he had the nuts. That was my stone cold read at the time. This was one of the rare cases where I really could narrow a player's range to a single hand as I knew he liked to see flops and folded when missed. Having had 28bb after the hand wasnt the worst case scenario, but I'd rather have had 43bb to my disposal. In general it isn't a hand you can really get away from but I was 99% sure here he had the nuts.
I figure that's up to me to decide to go with my read and gut feeling sometimes when I feel I'm crushed holding a premium myself to make the herofold.
Sure enough villain called and showed me the nut straight with JT of diamonds and even improved to a flush.
Guess I kind of made up my mind about this spot, but without you guys giving your thoughts for me to reflect on I wouldn't have come to my own/our conclusion.
As a token of my gratitude, I say Thank You :p
TPE!
If you can make the read and act on it in these rare occasions, then this will make you a great player!!!
So if you were 99% shure by how he plays, make the fold and continue to play with a better stack.
I'v acted on these instincts before but in live games only as in the live games it's much easier to make the read, and theres no better feeling than when they show you were correct .
Indeed, like in this hand the only viable holding that would raise me on the turn would either be the nuts or a set which I see players flatting the flop with and raise the turn so IR is commited to calling their all in. AQ/KQ would've raised me on the flop prolly although they could've played it like a slowplayed set. In this case I think villain would've 3betshoved AQ and maybe/prolly folded KQ preflop. He might've had 88 and called the flop putting me on AK/AJ and was going to re-evaluate the turn. And the fact that we were at the last 2 tables of a tourny with 3500 runners should narrow villain's range as everybody wants to make the FT. Most other times I would happily get it in. But I didn't make the hero fold so that doesn't make me that “great player” :p
