Table is very tight, and my image is very loose with a player talking about my crappy ranges in chat. Nirvana88 is good, with an ABI $14 ROI 47% over healthy sample. He typically has a very exploitable r/f range, however:

26/22/9 418 hands. RFI EP 29%. F3b 89% over 18 samples.

I believe he is good enough to make some adjustments to my loose ranges, and he likely bases his decisions on his HUD from our ample history rather than chat discussion among fish.

What should my ICM-conscious resteal range look like here? 8th pays $56, $587 up top…

Merge – $10+$1|<> NL – Holdem – 8 players

fold, fold, nirvana88 raises to 2 BB, fold, andinista420….

Also, what about the idea of raise to 4.3bb/fold in this spot?

With three short stacks there, it's pretty tough. I wouldn't go super wide. It is tough for him to call off around 70% of his stack, though, so we shouldn't be too nitty either.

I'm gonna throw a guess out there and say 55+, A8s+, ATo+, QJs+, KQo+. But if you can estimate his exact opening % and calling %, it'll be easier to work it out. If he's opening say, 20% and only calling top 8%, I imagine it'll be a spot where we could be shoving a very wide range according to cEV, but much tighter with ICM.

Thanks for the reply Ginger. I just now came back here, lost the HH, and forgot my exact holdings. I had a suited ace and jammed, he woke up with AKo. Unlucky, since i think he was opening even wider than 20% and calling tighter than 8.

But after a lot of thought about the hand afterwards, I'm really into the idea of having a 3b/f for value range here with only 19bbs, since there is so much heavy ICM. Unless I have a read that he is super capable of light 4bs, then I think it is reasonable to r/f hands like AT-AJ, and 66-99. Losing 4.3bbs isn't a catastophe since it can be recovered in 2 steals on this tight table. Running Ax into AK for stacks with shorties present was a trainwreck.

How short are the Pokerstars hi-stakes guys 3b/f in ICM-heavy spots like this? Am I disreagarding math and inviting exploitation with this suggestion?
