Villain has been relatively but not overly active opening. He opened
once from utg 7 way and folded to 2nd pos 3bet from a bigger stack. He also opened the
button and when the hand got shown down showed J10x. He seems pretty
competent.

I have a tag image and have not 3-bet once yet.

When he opened I was debating between jamming and 3-betting. Although I
think jamming is plus EV I think my stack is a little big and think
that a smaller 3-bet is better.

I was planning on calling a shove although not thrilled about it. If I
was just called I had no plan because I never really know what this
means and how to proceed.

Thoughts on;

1)Villains Range

2) How to play the hand on this flop

Tough spot. I mean a capable player there defenetly could have AA.  Hate making a signifigant 3 bet here and folding. Might be a good spot for a check shove. Little unorthodox but will make your line look absurdly strong.

Hard to put someone on a range for calling here when calling here really isn’t in my game (Maybe AA thats all).  I hadn’t played much with villain but had him as competent from the little that I did see so that makes it even tougher to put him on a range.

Any help putting a competant player on a range here I think is the first step…..any thoughts on that?

I hate 3-betting here and folding ever but this has to be about the worst possible flop for my hand.  If he is flatting with a middle pair he is not folding ever.  If he has AK he gets in in pre.  I can only really see him having one hand in his range that he is folding and thats AQ. My equity against all of this is not very good at all.

I think it might be gross and something I really don’t look to do but check folding my be best here.  Am I crazy to think that?

the fact that he is a capable player, he understands the power of positon. for that reason we can widen his calling range. do we think he’s trapping?? Posisible but not likely. Lets take out AA or KK or QQ. 8’s thru JJ likely calling range. Suited connectors/ gappers ranging from 78s+ 79s+ throw in some A10s, AJs and AQo. But on to the flop unless hes trapping this is not a bad flop for u to continue ur line that u were strong pre and still are post flop. Only thing our stacks become short with cbet if we dont win the pot.  putting us around the 12 – 15bb. but we have to take our stand in the hand.  We have a TAG image, USE IT!!. if we check and he beats us to the pot with shove it would be a tough decision. We would have to fold. we can take the line of aggression and use our image and put all our chips in middle and put him to tough decision. Fearing calls from over pairs, that are definately calling, flush drws and str8t drws which may call. we’re ahead and can stick it in a good % of time to show profit. That’s just my read on the situation.  I would like to hear wt others think of the hand and also my analysis on this hand.

would like to see results later. I hope u got it in pre and and took the pot.
