Hey,
I'm a online CG player and playing mostly nl100 6max but I want to transition to be mostly playing MTTs. I have very limited experience of MTTs so I signed up here to watch videos.
I play all MTTs on Stars lower than $10 but I want to ask if you if there's some tournaments I should focus on and which I should exclude? I'm in EU so I have access to all the sites, should I play on another site instead or add one? Any advice for CG players transitioning to MTTs?
Thanks,
Baruka
Bet sizing and short stack play aswell as gear changes are things that you should really be aware of how different is from cg to mtt’s, as you rarelyplay with 100bb in a tourney your openening size and betsizing relative to the pot should be much smaller and dynamic in relation to blinds. And your shortstack game is probably very weak because of lack of experience. Just watch alot of the videos here. Theres no big need for several sites when playing those stakes. In the beginning you should avoid turbos and perhaps focus on deepstack/rebuys as they play is a little deeper and that might be helpful to make the transition a little easiera/smoother.

Thanks for the reply.
Should I keep playing on Stars? The micro tourneys gets alot of entrants so I’m not sure if that’s good since it will increase the variance alot? I’m thinking of maybe playing on a smaller site like ipoker/ongame/888/ft.
And is there any particular series that I should watch? I'm going to watch as many microstakes videos as I can.
Well, stars does have the top 15% payouts (alot of others have 10%), and very nice blind structure compared to most sites, so that does reduce some varience. If you’d like to play smaller fields i would suggest the 180 man sngs. But if you’d like to play other sites there’s nothing wrong with that, might even get some softer fields on those.
As for the series here im not that familier with the micro ones, but overall i feel the quality is good. Remember that you should focus on playing solid abc tournament style, most of your stack is going to be from people not laying down tpwk and general bad play, so don’t go overboard with keeping an image and advanced plays as youll end up levelling yourself instead of your opponenets.

Edges aren't as low as one might think in turbos, I would say they come somewhat more transparent and it's just a decent amount of varience because of all the flips you get into. Either way for a transitioning cashgame player I would recommend the rebuys/normal/deepstack tournaments.
