After this week with my HH in the study group I have gone back and looked at a lot of my other HH's to see if I am seeing the same trends (and lo and behold I do!). THe main leak I am looking to work on is Card Discipline. I am wondering how others have managed or are trying to instill strong discipline for not playing marginal hands outside of situations that dictate it (i.e. steals). I am curious as to what others do or have done to help themselves become more disciplined in what cards they look to play. Looking forward to the input!

Writing down some of your leaks and keeping them next to you while you play can be helpful.
So much that we do in life is muscle memory – if you've played a few hundred games making the same types of mistakes the whole time it's tough to instantly flip a switch and fix them all because your instincts are to play the hand the same way you've always played it even if it's wrong.
Yeah, I suppose that is what I am struggling with a bit and I am curious how others battle the problem. The notebook is actually a really good idea. I have recently just started using them to take notes when I read and watch videos so I will add this to the list and see what I can do to help drive improvement. I think I need my own Quality Control Department for PreFlop Play!

lol
just ask yourself, “do i like money?”
if the answer is “yes,” then don't make plays that you think will lose you money.
i know i sound patronizing, but at the same time it's how i developed the discipline to play a solid and profitable game. you ultimately have to ask yourself why you are playing poker. are you playing to make money? if so, then you need to check your emotions and ego at the door and set the nose to the grindstone.
