On the first hand i thought that the donk shove was rep some draw and i had top pair with second kicker and open ended in a big pot i couldn’t find how to escape from this

On the second hand i think he never folds a 5 to my shove.I think just by calling i loose to much value and if i raise smaller and he shoves , can i ever fold this?

Hand #1 – so many players to act behind, but I still like the shove better than a call or fold. You still have outs against 2 pairs. Only straights are drawing you slim.

Hand #2 – Two concerns for me here. First is, I don’t know if you are getting enough odds to call the turn, considering that you have 8 outs to catch on the river to be any good. On the river, if I am wearing my nit hat, I am just betting or check-calling. If I raise, what hands will call me that I beat? Is an A good enough to call a river raise, which is usually perceived to be strong?

Hand 2 I bet the flop, and failing that I bet the turn. Other than that, like how you played both.

More importantly, I think you need to change your criteria for deciding which hands are worthy of deep study. It seems like you are looking for big losses and then trying to ask how they could have been avoided. There are plenty of situations where you should be losing your stack, and these are two of them. It would be better if you  looked for situations where you were unsure, in the moment (before you knew the results), of how to play the hand. I highly doubt you would have considered these hands discussion-worthy had you won them, but the results really shouldn’t change your interest in the hand.

How about a squeeze on that first hand? That is a big pot already.

The primary issue I see is that the one V left in the hand that could really cripple our stack is also the UTG+1 initial raiser and a squeeze looks obvious. That said, we have him covered and he can’t really call with so many behind unless he has one of the hands we block.
