I want to get some discussion going on your thought process for calling all ins. I played a hand earlier where UTG shoves 7bb utg at 500/1k (125) level. I need 36% equity to call this all in.

If he is shoving 22.5% of hands like my push-fold chart says is unexploitable. (Lets say for discussion purposes that he is shoving based on this chart)

His shoving range should be

22.5%, 22+ A2s+ A8o+ K8s+ KTo+ Q9s+ QJo J9s+ T8s+ 98s

I plugged some numbers into pokertracker to find out what equity % certain hands have versus this range.

77 (52%), 22 (43%), AT (51%), A5 (42%), KQ (47%), KT (42%), JQ (40%), JT (38%)

I know we shouldn't be folding to 7bb shoves very often but it's crazy to me, how light we can call here if we know that he's shoving as wide as this push-fold says is unexploitable.

Should we be calling all ins with KT in this spot? What's your thought process look like for calling small shoves? There seems to be more strategy written on shove ranges than calling ranges.

Any input from any buy-in/skill level would be appreciated. I never really know how light to call certain players down, especially if I have a <25bb stack and losing will cripple me to push-fold myself. Saying this, I'd like to balance stack preservaton with not missing out on profitable situations.

generally people are shoving tighter from EP then nash optimal. so i call tighter.

in general i think calling bit tighter is not the worst if you play against unknowns.
