hey

reads – V has been active , raising frequently pre , has been involved in a number of pots.

When v checks back turn , their range may include Qx and maybe some pair pocket pairs. They may also be checking back flush draws or hands like AK/AJ.

Otr v may be value betting Qx or bluffing with missed draws or a hand like AJ ect. I’m not sure if they’ll value bet Tx here otr since if hero had Q in their range they would have bet it. I am also wondering do u ever turn this hand into a bluff? it’s at the bottom of our range and we may get v to fold hands like pocket pairs and maybe Tx?

thoughts?

cheers.

please just fold flop next time. this should become an auto fold without even thinking about it.

Just look at the equity you have against his range and how small your R is and your realize that this call is simply burning money and destroying your win rate.

fold this on flop and call 86s or K5s instead for obv reasons

Yep – I’m not very experienced but was going to say what two other posters already did. Fold flop – you’re not going to be good here nearly often enough. And call river? If you’ve gotten that far, still no – same reason.

Just to add to the general trend here. I found myself losing too many chips by doing exactly what I think you did here:

  • Call to setmine
  • Change your mind on the flop and deciding you still have the best hand.

In the end I started being really strict about it, planning beforehand and following through. Thus, if I’m calling with 44 to set mine and I don’t hit, I’ll fold, even if I probably have the best hand after the flop. The reason I’ve started followed that approach is that I tended to go from analytic to stubborn really quick. So if the flop was a safe 669 I would float one, but then when a Q comes I would go into stubborn mode and keep calling hoping the guy hadn’t hit.

In the end that forces me to make the decission before hand. I.e. I have 88, I’ll call and reevaluate on the flop depending on texture but I make the decission before the flop so I know if I’m setmining or flat calling with a good hand (or both) but not going from one to the other after seeing the flop.
