I see in a lot of the videos that the 20 big blind mark is just about panic time……my general question is that when you are sitting on a 15 – 20 big blind stack is it correct to call with any pocket pair if there is a shove before you or is it better to wait for a spot where you are the shover with a lesser hand where your oponents have fold equity behind you……adding to that that ( same 15-20 bb scenario ) what if there is a shove and a call prior to you acting…..thanks bigheaddave
well it depends on the table and the players behind you.
If you have a active table with players who are willing to call light behind you. Then I imo its better to wait for
66-77+.
If you have a passive table with players calling only with premiums and say like 88+ AJ+then you can widen the range.
Obviously it depends on position of the first shover and his stats, your read on him.
Then you have to take into account how many players are left to act. The earlie the position you the better pp you need
Multiply this for more players in action.
At some tables its because of the FE when pushing first, better to wait for this situations.
Their are also other dynamics: Tournament-type, speed, Bubble, payout jumps.
No easy standard rules for this imo.
