Villain is Duffman – a solid reg.

We’re really deep here with antes and i’m not sure how much to bet on a c-bet in a 3bet pot.  I recall from some of the vids, that the pros will be smaller than the standard 2/3 when we get this deep so what size would get the job done without putting more at risk than necessary?

How much do i bet here – Full Tilt No-Limit Hold’em Tournament, 250/500 Blinds 50 Ante (8 handed) – Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

saw flop

Hero (Button) (t27738)

SB (t30967)

BB (t21835)

UTG (t14930)

UTG+1 (t18293)

MP1 (t51559)

MP2 (t40168)

CO (t14114)

Hero’s M: 24.12

Preflop: Hero is Button with 10, A

3 folds, MP2 bets t1118, 1 fold, Hero raises to t3000, 2 folds, MP2 calls t1882

Flop: (t7150) J, 8, 2 (2 players)

MP2 checks, Hero bets?

hmmmm, i think you could go smaller PF to start. idk about the other guys but i try and go ~2.5x on my 3bets, specifically so that in spots like these–where i’m 3betting light–i can go smaller.

as for the flop, am i the only one that doesn’t really like this texture? there’s just not that much for us to represent except two sets and over-pairs. if you do bet i don’t see any reason to go more than ~3300-3600.

Half pot to alittle over half is fine this deep, I like half though.  I do like betting this flop though, depending if I had been aggro recently or not.  It’s a 3bet pot, you’re supposed to have overpairs a good amount of the time, it shouldn’t be unbelievable that you have one here.  This flop doesn’t hit a lot of his range, thus if he flatcalls your cbet you may be inclined to barrel the turn a good amountof the time to get him off lower pairs as the only hands he flatcalls a 3bet pre that can stand heat on this flop to the river is JJ, he should be folding 88 pre unless hes really stubborn.  He could be flatting a lot of KQ/AQ/possible AK/99/1010/maybe AJ preflop which means this should be a nice spot to bet flop and barrel the turn sometimes, but not always.

I bet 4400 and he folded.  So I guess what I’m taking from this is that an approximate 4k bet would have been better.
